CS:GO Discussion

Ah yeah yeah, I remember. Small world =) I'll add you later on Steam, I need more peeps to play this with a lot of the guys I used to play with no longer have any interest.

In a way though (speaking as someone who has played CS from 1.3 through to CSS for literally thousands of hours in total) I think CS:GO is quite a refreshing change.... It changes the gameplay dynamic quite a lot and instead of spraying constantly it rewards good aim by actually have excellent hit reg and not reliance on spraying. I used to enjoy CSS until I just got bored of how easy it is to spray constantly to the point where there is not much skill once you have learn the recoil patterns perfectly etc. I actually like CS:GO because of the much improved bullet reg and the lack of spraying makes it more interesting (I was compeltely bored of CSS and stopped playing it)...

People who are bashing it and saying it is just CSS with different models clearly do not know what they are talking about because the gameplay is very different in CS:GO... Also this game was made in cooperation with pro CS players so it is not just a game for noobs. Although it does seem to be made to cater to noobs as well as experience players.

The people who are bashing it are basically saying "Waaah It's different and I don't like change!"

If they had asked plenty of people could have told them it was a different game before they wasted money buying it.

What matters are it's net code, it's hit registration, and it's recoil spreads... all of which look like they will be good. I think this will end up being a big hit!

Yes the hit reg and net code seem a LOT better.... The recoil seems a bit weird but it is good that it changed from CSS because CSS was just constant spraying.... especially because the hit reg was so poor a lot of the time.... The reg on CS:GO is amazing compared to CSS and you are actually rewarded for getting long distance headshots etc. without spraying.

Is this now the "official" CS:GO thread then? :)

We could really do with a post showing public servers regularly used by OcUK members and a link to the Steam names list. I'm sure Antar Bolaeisk wouldn't mind updating the form to include CS:GO.

I do not understand spray patterns, aiming at the head I miss, aiming at the floor I headshot

Just jump into a bot only server with harmless bots and practice. Take a weapon you are having problems with and shoot at one spot on the wall without moving the mouse, do it a couple of times and you will quickly realise the bullet spread always remains the same. This is how you 'learn' recoil patterns.

Next try shooting at the wall again but this time try to counter the recoil by moving your mouse against the recoil pattern you now know, by doing this your aiming to try to keep the bullet spread as small as possible.

Doing this will help your spray, remember you need to learn this for each weapon you use! :)

At the risk of sounding like i'm trolling, bloody hell this game is rubbish.

A few of my friends love it though so i'll no doubt end up playing it, starting a clan etc.

Tis a good advice indeed, I did jump into only bots game to try get a feel for guns and I did shoot at walls, I don't think there's a pattern, it just goes all over the place. Playing cs:s just about 90% of my kills are headshots while in go I can't even kill anybody. It's quite a big change, which I did not expect at all, or I suppose it could be just adaptation time.
