CS:GO Discussion

The theme seems to be the people who are crap at it think it's crap.

The people who are good at it think it's good.

Wrong. I actually find it easy, but then, there's a lot of these rubbish players on that have never played CS before.

I'm decent at it and still find it rubbish.

Because an article from nearly half a year ago during the first build of alpha has any relevancy at all.. lol

I've been in the beta since last October and it's hardly changed to make someone swap their opinion of the game only new content

Are you for real? The game has changed massively since then, I'v been in the beta since the end of april and the patch change list is about 25 A4 pages long...

are you for real? even top professional players say cs go it's terrible

http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/03/13/p...t’s-not-fun-it’s-a-terrible-game-right-now-”/

That was 6 months ago though and apparently a lot of things have changed since that. Small changes in CS make a big difference. I agree about the colour scheme though, it is too hard to tell between T and CT and also to see people on some areas.

Also pro's will call any change at all a bad thing because they don't want to have to relearn the game that they have already spend 1000's of hours mastering the recoil patterns etc.. Any change to them is a problem... To me though I am happy to see changes because I was completely bored of the old game after playing it to the point it just irritated me with the dodgy net code and gameplay etc.

if you actually read them you would have seen how minor game play changes was apart from a few recoil and grenades tweaks , game play hasn't changed dramatically at all in fact this was it's biggest patch that affected game play if your that interested

Code:
Gameplay:
• Reduced the amount of stepwise variation in the weapon recoil patterns so they are smoother and easier to learn and control.
• The recoil jump on the xm1014 has been lowered.
• The recoil on the ak47 has been lowered to be more in line with other weapons.
• The ak47 recoil pattern has also been adjusted.
• The cash reward for defusing bomb has been raised to $3500.
• Added multiple T spawn points to Dust2.

Yes but "a few recoil and grenades tweaks" along with all the other fixes etc. is enough to make it a completely different game in CS terms.... Recoil patterns, netcode, small things etc. Are what make all the difference.

Now I know your trolling haha, here is the gameplay changes from one patch on April 13th:

Gameplay:
• Added additional camera punch effect to weapon firing to give more visual feedback.
• Added convar to support buying two flashbangs (ammo_grenade_limit_flashbang). This is disabled by default.
• SMGs get a range increase.
• Falloff distances for SMGs have been improved to reduce micro hits at medium distances.
• UMP 45 gets a small armor ratio buff and a very minor cycle time buff.
• P90 gets a armor ratio debuff to bring it more in line with its smg brethren rather than make it as good if not better than entry level rifles.
• Added first shot recoil suppression to allow for closer grouping of the first few shots in a burst or full auto fire.
• TBots that try to plant in an invalid space will quickly give up and pick a new place to try to plant now.
• Arms Race now ends with a gold knife to convey to the user the difference between killing someone with a knife to steal their level and killing someone with a knife to win the game.
• A knife kill in Arms Race now only sets you back a weapon level if you were killed by an enemy.
• The C4 now has a short (0.5 second) grace period for defusing, during which time the player can interrupt and resume defusing. This restores the old 0.5 second latency that existing in CS for defusing, but also maintains the newer preferred ability to stop defusing without the player being inexplicably stuck for up to 0.5 seconds. This also greatly reduces the chance that small lag/packet loss events will result in the defuse being interrupted.
• Reduced the size of the hostage hitboxes.
• Changed the ducking speed to match the unducking speed. Both are now 200 ms.
• Slightly reduced HE grenade damage per pro feedback.
• Reduced per shot weapon inaccuracy across all weapons.

There are similar amount of gameplay changes in every patch happening atleast once per month since then...

I regret buying it now, I dont like the recoil on the guns I cant think of any other game that has recoil like this even at close range you cant spray like on source

You can though... You just need to learn the new recoil patterns....

It is not stupidly easy to spray like source but you can still do it.

Anyone think all the 'pros' are just crying as they're not as uber leet as the previous versions?

It's a new game chaps, you will get better.

well ok I forgot about that patch , but again nothing changed the game dramatically its still not as fluid as 1.6 , consistent recoil patterns , bad net code only have to look at steam stats to see it's only half as popular as 1.6

why do you think that? cs:go is a lot more player friendly just like css people who don't like it just want a good updated version of 1.6 not a game that feels like left for dead 2 it terms of gun play

Eugh it is a brand new game of course people are not going to like it because they do not like change. The pro's would be happy if it was identical but with new graphics. Saying the net code is poor is just utter rubbish it is far better than CSS.
