Not used vsync for years, I think I have frames capped at 300 although I can't honestly remember. Using a 144hz monitor.
My son gets the same/ worse on his pc, which is why I assumed it could be the network, I guess it could also be some setting we both use.
I have disabled ip flooding on the superhub, hopefully that helps.

Only thing I can think of then is port forward the steam network ports.

I think i've found out your issue, how old is your son? If 13+ just tell him to stop Dl'ing pron, that normally sorts out my lag issues

I'm not really following the updates on this game, as I only have 7-8h during the last 2 weeks on it compared to 50-70h couple weeks/months ago. But my FPS seems to be between 80-190, the game stutters and is unplayable. I played a bit around a week ago and had 300-350fps (I play on 1280x960 all low), those updates constantly create problems for people. I have some other friends who have noticed the FPS drops as well, so its not just me and the pc is capable of running 250-300fps easily on source engine based game.
Anyone else experiencing any performance issues with this 'game'? I haven't changed any drivers or anything like that and there are no issues with other games. Ehh...

I randomly got a huge drop in FPS a couple of weeks ago. I started playing on Sunday and my FPS barely went above 100 even after messing around with graphics settings, yet Saturday evening the game was running flawlessly. I didn't see the game update at all though so I don't know where it came from.
Did a bit of Googling and found this page and before doing anything else I set the launch options as shown in that guide half way down the page. Fired up the game and it was pretty much spot on again. They are all fairly basic other than the nod3d9ex command, but it seems to have worked. However looking at the comments on that guide it doesn't seem to work for quite a lot of people and they have done absolutely everything in the guide. Looking at your PC specs our computers aren't too dissimilar in component terms other than me having a 7970.
Can't say I play the game much at the moment and certainly not Competitive games, I've even lost my GN3 rank and a rank entirely which probably isn't a bad thing although I know that will come back the next time I play Competitive. Just sticking with KZ maps with music blasting out at the moment

-nod3d9ex is pretty useless as all it does is help you alt-tab when it's on
-threads x is NOT what most people think it is, it doesn't relate to your cores. It relates to threads used within windows. Can't find the test done a while back for proof (((((

Just played and won my first MM and thought that I would be placed with other unranked players. This wasn't the case and I got placed with everyone in the game being Silver Elite Master.
My skill level completely left me in the game but a lot was to do with the other team being a clan and I can only imagine they had TS and communicated properly.

He was trade banned permanently not because he did anything but apparently you can spam scam reports so thats why profile is set private. Steamrep shows he is ok now so I guess he got support to reverse it

I fixed my FPS and went back to DMG, I hate public servers too easy... I'll link a better guide later on as curenttly I'm on my phone.
