Excuses tbh, I've been there and said the same thing. If your team are potatoes just concentrate on your game rather than them. At all ranks (cos MM isn't real comp) you can pretty much win each match just by out aiming the other team.

And I'm not saying this to be mean, but if you are Silver / GN there is a lot more you need to work on than worrying about your team mates. Do some decent aim practice on NON valve deathmatch servers, play 1v1, use the aim_botz / training aim workshop maps, use a crosshair that shows your movement (cl_crosshairstyle 2/3 iirc) cos I know movement whilst shooting is a big issue for most lower ranks / newer player (been there myself).

just play 16:9 because 21:9 is utterly pointless for CS. I have started using 4:3 again just because easier to no scope when AWP'ing, thicker lines, and less to concentrate on.

edit... if nvidia you can go to your CP and set aspect ratio to be either aspect ratio or full screen if you like stretched.

edit 2...If you really want 21:9 for CSGO try -w 2560 -h 1080 in the launch options

edit 3... I think you have to start in 1080p then once in game change to 2560x1080 weird huh

10 wins would get you 16*30*10 +bonus which is double or more most of the time

so by winning ten matches you will have level 3 unless you've been really unlucky on bonus.

Assuming you lose a couple of matches by the time you've won 10 you'll be rank 3

So I managed to play some Faceit games after several failed attempts due to people not connecting, played the 3 "placement" matches, won all 3 but instead of being placed in a league I got a message saying that I need to be a sub to be placed in one? So if I want to play vs other players around my skill level I have to pay, right?

On another note, these past 2 days I haven't encountered any cheaters in MM which is a miracle! Hopefully the new Overwatch will help even more to get rid of them!

I'm not sure what the problem is, the other big team games (LoL and Dota) require 100 hours or more of gameplay before you can join competitive. And it makes sense, it's annoying to play competitive games with beginners.

Not really, unless you're being matched against Silver 1s (that's the lowest rank, right?) and doing poorly compared to your team you don't NEED practice, that's the whole point of having matchmaking over putting people against each other randomly.

Even if I grind to rank 3 doing stuff that's boring as **** I still have the problem where my friend who I play with can't play with me because we only play once a week at most (it's more like every 3 weeks) and he's only halfway through level 1 as well.

Requirements for LoL/DotA ranked are irrelevant.
 
I read a global elite complaining he cant get rank 3 but if you are that skilled, rank 3 shouldnt be fairly simple to get. I was thinking arms race which has no time limit on it could be done by that person in a minute or two ?
Even I get 6 or 7 kills in 30 seconds quite often so it'd be like hot knife through butter for them. I think it needs 30 kills to complete roughly, I always get stuck on the dam shotguns

Deathmatch is ten minutes of course and casual is evil incarnate, try demolition I guess (also the most *xp outside of comp)


If it stems the flow of wall hacks and cheap stuff you can get off google so easily ? then its worth the bother and its only a one off requirement.
The point is banned accounts have this hassle to requalify every time they get OW or vac

one drop a week which you still get if you don't buy the operation.

xp missions yea, kinda just nothing much. The coin itself does do something, worth having as it enables special drops and thats the only way to get them. Most obvious is the case itself only goes to coin holders.
I also got like 50 cobblestone skins this way and another one this week, unfortunately I sold the only good one and they all storm skins. I do get the expensive cases drop so paid for the coin with that, I always thought it was maybe a secret bonus from my doing 100 overwatch cases.

demolition can show the time dynamic to bomb plants and why sometimes you shouldnt try to kill anybody in order to win. Its not all pointless or doesnt have to be

Bought 2 keys tonight have the emails saying I spent x amount but the keys are not in my inventory :( is this happening for any one else

I tried to play today and got told my xp rank was no high enough, annoyed me a lot. I have 288 hours in CSGO and played cs from beta 1. I have no interest in playing the other modes in the game and being forced to do some silly missions to get a meaningless ranking system up so I can go back to play comp matches I could play < 24hrs ago left me unimpressed. This should be forced for new players/accounts. Not sure why I HAVE to do it. I am told it doesn't take long but still I shouldn't have to jump through hoops to play something that has been taken away.
 
About 30% of the games contain people using hacks by some estimates Ive heard, Im glad they trying something.
If people teamed up for game modes besides comp it might go a bit faster. Some who pay for hacks, subscribe even have bought a dozen copies of csgo so just requiring it for new players doesnt really work

 
Looking for people to play with, preferably competitive. I have access to a TS server and willing to learn tactics and such but my aim is fine, just need to learn the strats. Unranked account but I haven't played CS in this manner but have played competitively on other games, the reason my account says smurf etc is to troll the crying noobs hehe.

I am not sure what the problem with getting to rank 3 is... the rank system dropped over 2 weeks ago iirc and the rank limit was only just introduced. I believe I hit rank 5 last night and I only really play compets and the challenges once a day so it really is not difficult.

Think I'm at 5/6 on my main and smurf, only done a few missions as the mostly seem to be on causal mode which is just a cluster **** one mission was cz75 kills so on inferno I just charged through apps and was top flagging, I don't get why people play casual as it just seems silly to me. I quite enjoy arms race a demolition however.

I can see how it would be irritating for people who haven't played much since bloodhound as comp was easily the best mode to gain xp in.

Had the most pointless over watch last night, guy would start normal but as soon as he got anywhere near enemy players he'd just look at the floor and start popping heads at random. I can at least see the point of hacking but why be that blatant and waste 12 quid on the game as your going to be banned quickly.
