CS:GO Discussion

I'm amazed that even though I have over 300 hours of Competitive match making played I'm now unable to play match making until I play enough boring public games so that I'm level 3. It's stupid and has put me off playing the game. Raising the level isn't going to help, you are going to run into cheaters no matter what. I'm sure people will start selling level 3 accounts if they haven't already.

I believe it was mainly aimed at Smurfs, but yes also hackers as well. Putting off playing MM until level 3 will cause a lot of smurfers to not bother smurfing.

Well, possibly. :)

I think the changes are aimed at smurfs to be honest, Especially as they have started banning people who deliberately suicide on maps like Agency etc.

Quite a few hacks are used for boosting apparently so it seems a similar cause. They lose the account but get paid 20 dollars per player boosted, its worth it to them.
The longer it takes them to get into an earning capacity, the less their overall payment per hour per hack is I guess

I wonder why people even bother, it must be boring but if its literally a work thing for them that figures

He may have 'just' been walling in which case if his aim is pap then he still wont get any kills! Quite funny really.

Some of them only offer to boost to DMG as it gets too hard for them beyond that with just wall hack alone. I think if you can recognise people aint legit during a game and adapt its possible to beat a hack especially if the bomb is down, these people are awful at decision making at that point. Worst thing is to hold an angle static, as they pre aim and online gives the advantage to peeking so they win as their 'reactions' are better

Got a pretty unusual overwatch case, was absolutely top quality player maybe pro Im guessing. So it was testing me, does that mean I got a previous case wrong not sure or could be random. Was cbble and he rushed from ct to nearly looking at T spawn area fountain, jumping quick peek with awp and killed which is pretty impossible to me but all quality plays through the demo

Came back from a break of over a month. Lost my rank and I have to get to level 3 still. Already level 2 though, so I'm getting closer.

Seems like that in this past month, a number of friends stopped playing CS. Feel free to add me to party up: http://steamcommunity.com/id/NiKMic/

Rank is LE/LEM, so add me only if you are of similar rank.

Thought my pc was broken earlier when I saw your name pop up in steam!
Catch up with you soon dude

Stillllll I see people whining about the level cap. It took my girlfriend (a complete beginner) 17 hours total.

I think the barrier into Competative should be a lot steeper. The only problem is we don't have unranked MM. If we can get unranked MM with roughly the same rules we have In the current MM then I could easily see that level 3 be bumped up to 10, like in DOTA. Could also mean that we finally get proper round time and bomb timers in Competative Matchmaking.

That is meant to be easy?

I'm at 6/7 hours I think. My Weekly XP just finished. I need some 2k XP to get Private 3 and I'm so bored of casual. To get 2k more xp, it is going to take me some 10 more casual games.

Please note, I have over 1100 hours in game and over 550 wins. It's like sending someone to University and teaching him the ABC.

Ridiculous way to deal with cheaters and smurfs. It's just a way to sell more Operation coins. Does absolutely nothing to cheaters.

I'd agree after thinking about it more, it doesn't stop cheaters or smurfs at all. They can just not use cheats or play badly till they get to level 3 and do the same for their first 10 competitive wins.

It takes them longer yes but people like this are determined to ruin peoples enjoyment anyway.

Obviously it's not great that valve couldn't filter out those who already had over X Amount of wins/time In the game prior to Implementation, but I wholeheartidly disagree that it is an ineffective measure against smurfing and cheating (to a lesser extent).

A decent level cap will stop a lot of people from getting a new account just to stomp some worse players for a few games, will also stop people rage hacking on a new account for giggles and finally it makes boosting people with hacks a whole lot less profitable. I've not seen one person obviously boosting with hacks since the change, although that's a combination of the overwatch change and level cap.

17 hours for a complete beginner to get level 3. That was within 1 week, weekly bonus resets help a lot too. An experienced player could DM it in 9 hours, with just one weekly bonus, easily. it's not the end of the world.

Unranked MM and level 10 cap to ranked MM should be a thing.

I agree with the above, I bought the coin (first and last I've ever bought) to get the missions in the hope I would rank up quicker but just cannot stand playing public, so now I'm stuck unable to play matchmaking.

Can somebody explain what this op bloodhound coin is all about. I've read mixed things and am confused.

I'm not a totally n00by to CS but I am to CS:GO having only recently got back into PC gaming.

I find the matchmaking for this game awful.

I'm not far off level 3, I still don't know fully what happens when I get to level 3. Does it open up competitive play?

Yes it opens up competative play upon reaching level 3.

The bloodhound operation gives you acces to completing "missions" (e.g. kill x amount of players in a certain mode with a certain gun). Completing these missions gives experience. Once a week you have the chance of getting a weapon drop (low chance). Over all this bloodhound operation is quite poor compared to previous versions.

NasChad, you are not willing to do some Deathmatch/do one mission a day for a week to get back into competative?

Exactly, the people that go out of their way to cheat in a video game are just going to find quicker/easier ways of getting into matchmaking.

For someone that plays a few hours of competitive match making a week then it is a bit of a pain yes, especially when playing the missions isn't an enjoyable thing for me to do.

I don't have a massive issue with the new system, I believe it is probably a good thing for brand new players to at least play the game for a bit before being able to jump into matchmaking. I just think they should have put something in place for people that have already played competitive matchmaking and have achieved a rank.

Yes it will not stop the die hard cheaters, it will slow them down though. It will also act as a deterrent against a lot of people wanting to Smurf and rage hack. This is a whole lot better than no barrier into MM.

If anything I would like to see level 10 requirement and unranked mm introduced.

I do agree that they should have added something in to filter those who already had x wins/hours/etc prior to launch of the whole rank 3 requirement.

Is smurfing really such a massive issue though? If they are consistently top fragging in games then their accounts will rank up and won't be an issue for the lower ranks. Yes, they will have a few games of destroying people but how is that any different from an old 1.6/CS:S pro picking up CS:GO and playing some match making for the first time?
