CS:GO Discussion

^ Yup, little too easy to rank up currently.

Been playing on my smurf a bit lately, gone from LE to SMFC in 7/8 games.

That also includes 2/3 games letting nova friends use the account.
Wonder if I can get it to GE by 30 wins.

Just about made it to GE at 30 wins. :p

Yeah originally this account was supposed to be around the DMG level to allow me to play with most friends. But after a few games I decided I wanted to see how attainable GE is now compared to a while ago. Fortunately I have access to a few accounts via work, just means grinding through casual to get Level 3 which is tiresome.

You should be LEM soon enough :)

I wish I had something exotic, I've been meaning to try a few different variations. I use default static, mainly because the crosshair gap is closest to my preference from the default menu. I've been lazy and got used to it, I might try making something cleaner soon. As you say though, it's completely subjective as to what feels comfortable for you.

Things that you'll notice are quite similar amongst pro players is that they generally have low - low/mid sensitivity, should result in more consistent aiming, muscle memory and accurate movement. Also no mouse acceleration, again for consistency.
They also generally run lower resolutions, many regard this as placebo, but it does make frame rates a bit more stable and people often comment they find spraying slightly more controllable and models seem to appear slightly larger.

I have personally always used native res for years, recently switched to 1280x960 stretched and find it helps ever so slightly. I had to adjust my sensitivity a little to accommodate due to the aspect ratio change. The only thing I miss from native res is how crisp everything looks.

Knew I was doing something wrong!!!

On a serious note though I would love to know what crosshairs you pro's are using :p Im currently using Forests and have been finding it suits me quite well as I guess it's a personal preference.

Crosshair are like you say personnal, the only thing I could recommend you do is install the crosshair mod from the workshop and have a play around with those.

Oh right I did lower my sensitivity a few months back as when I started it was super sensitive my mouse is 2600 DPI with 0.8 Sensitivity in game atm.

As for resolutions I agree I have tried the 4.3 stretched etc but it looks so ugly and just takes time to get used to it therefore I play at native res still :D

Yeah I have that was just curious as I agree it is personal preference but that isn't to say you can't fall in love with someone else's crosshair :D

That is crazy high sens, it works out at 4.6 for 450 dpi and 5.2 for 400dpi. Most people use 1.3 - 3 at 400 dpi.

If I were you i'd half that sens, then you'll still be on the high side but things should be more controllable for you.

Yup, definitely high.

At least twice as high as mine and my sensitivity isn't particularly low.

QcK+ the whole width of my mousemat gives me a 180. In CS low sens is king, you aren't exactly meant to be doing 180 noscopes. If they have the better position on you, you are meant to be dead.

pretty much this

plus i can move my awp pretty damned quick at low sense anyway

0.7 in game and 1600 dpi on the rival:)
