CS:GO Discussion

So at long last... 47 wins it took. Can see I could easily get it quicker if I hadn't played any solo's, instead with my team from the off. (Off to a flying start in the league we joined too with a 16-9 win on Inf :p)

The first frag with the p2k was hilarious, I didn't record it properly so I'll probably re-upload in the future but yeah, I'm off to football training! :p

Not sure what's just happened, losing a game hard, enemy team all on fresh accounts, gets to 11 / 4 at half time. They then get to 15 - 5 and just start running around and allow it to tie at 15 - 15, surely there's quicker ways to derank than do this.

A draw is just has good as a win though.. I have ranked up from a draw before.

Ranked down on 16 10 win today when second table. Is there some lag for ranking since I ranked back up next game.

Despite trying to derank my accout, it got ranked back up to SMFC... LEM + 7 losses, 2 draws and 1 win = rank up apparently. Good one, Valve.

I'm guessing your rank was higher than the enemy team - have you had a few losses recently? The ranking system is a strangely calculated which is all to do with like your team's total 'level' vs the enemy team's 'total level'. Say your team is full of LEMs and enemy full of DMGs, if you win 1 round and lose 1 round then you'd have actually got 'minus' score to your overall rank, so could've just been a very close derank which explains why you ranked up the game after.

Getting round VIPs helps you rank up quicker so I'd imagine you hadn't got many of those recently either?

The total ranks vs of either team cant further apart then 10 ranks total unless the anti boost code goes haywire and Gabe Newell himself sends thunderbolts down from the heavens to smite you.

Round VIPs :D old school CS
if you win 1 round and lose 1 round then you'd have actually got 'minus' score to your overall rank
maybe a draw but even 16-14 win vs a lower team shouldnt cause lost elo score imo
Lost ranks on game wins occurred a few times when there was a lot of bans. The same way it doesnt award overwatch xp till you actually finish a game I guess, its deducting a queue of previous results perhaps.

Whats the crack with Overwatch, does it just open up to you at random after you've played comp for a while?

What's the quickest way of de-ranking? I would love to have this account with a lower rank, my mates hate playing vs LEM's. It's not my account, I just use it with them as my main is too high.

One more thing, I have a i5 2400@stock, 8gb 1600mhz 1.51v and 7950@1050/1400. I'm struggling at keeping my fps above 220 when action is happening, the fps drops are really annoying. Would upgrading to 3570k+OC solve the issue?

Apart from that, I forgot how fun it is to play in a pre-made. I might come back to this game! :D

I'll edit my GPU BIOS on friday along with overclocking my CPU to its fullest. I made an offer for a 3570k anyways, I don't see much point in spending hundreds of pound on a PC used just for CS and other lightweight tasks.

BTW My 7950 with decent OC isn't a bad card, I'm not sure if there's much point raising another 50-100mhz on the core as for the memory 1500 isn't that reliable in some cases. To stay safe I left my OC at 1050/1400, the highest I clocked it was 1214/1612 only for benchmarks though.

i5 3570k should do the trick then? :D

Right chaps,

this weekend im getting my PC out, giving it a clean and setting that badboy up. 4 weeks ago today was the last time i went on it.
