CS:GO Discussion

Here you go, went on TS3 with those guys. Jonas gave an idea to play with a R8's for the whole match, so we played only using them (not quite). Had a laugh, no one was toxic, one of the few lost games which I enjoyed. :) This was on a smurf account too, just for the reference I got banned on my main.

this for me is what is wrong with this game and the people that play it. so you're on a smurf account (rest of your team the same?) you decide to play the whole game only using R8's? so you're pretty much just trolling?

what about the folks on the other side who have come on wanting/hoping for a proper game? but instead are met by a team of trolls? but it's ok, you had a laugh. you had a laugh at the expense of the other team.

you say no one was toxic, but as far as I'm concerned you were all toxic, toxic for playing that way in the first place.

sorry if the above seems offensive, I don't know you - you're maybe a lovely chap and great fun to play online with. but going by your above statement I'm glad you got a ban, shame it wasn't on both your accounts. the less people playing the game and behaving this way the better for the CSGO game community as a whole

Not sure just scream, its a few pros back that one. I never win those contests, there is also one for a Dragonlore - If I win I will write a postcard from my new desert island getaway.
I did win a 'Big Iron' scout on twitch watching a game though, 3000 to 1 so guess Im lucky, sold it to buy a game :p

I think they are addressing the issue by trying to repopulate the lower ranks rather than adding more ranks.

Ranks are possibly already balanced but with silver or casual players just not playing as much, it makes their end of the scale rarer. Maybe it should account for that and doesnt. Ranks are still getting a bit easier I think

Not sure if their change to rifle spread was to extend skill ranges, CSGO is an easier game then 1.6 I think but I thought it was better hitboxes previously

I didnt spot anything in that demo IC3, you TK'd one person in smoke but I'd not ban you :p
Globals play on there compared to faceit or ESEA on higher ranks
Faceit was down one time so I met a load of higher players from there on popflash, was a disaster as I'd just changed sens and they had no mercy or mistakes so no frags for me. Im nowhere near a bad global nevermind a good one, but the queue was jacked. Zero comms, maybe they were using ts3 or just normal run about and duel tactics which I dislike about pug games vs mm

new mouse = can't hit a barn door.

for the 1st time in ages actually decided to play around with DPI/sensitivity etc - at the moment settled on 2.25 and 600dpi. Quiet high but seems to suit me ok for now.

Is playing at full res (1920 x 1080) a bad thing? FPS is fine (over 200 most of the time). Should I lower it?

Yeah I am at 1080p as well mate.
I cap mine at 121 as this is where I seem to get minimal screen tearing on my temporary monitor.
I use to have 1000 DPI and 6 sensitivity. I am now down to 800dpi and 1.3. Just keep playing with it until you are comfortable.

PS, fly back to the UK tomorrow for 3 weeks, we might finally get some games where I have decent ping :D

Constantly changing settings will screw you over more than anything - especially given you need time to adjust to each and every change. If you swap them every day or every game you'll never get anywhere.

Leave it for a few weeks, see if it improves - if not, then scrap it.

2 smurfs, the other team won the game and were also playing with R8's most of the time. No one was raging from the other team, so not sure what the problem is? It was 16:11 for the opponents, they were happy with the win.

The only reason why I use smurf account is, so I can play with my friends on lower ranks. They hated games vs GE-Supreme's, they're only MGE-DMG ranks... If they sort out the ranking system a little bit better, so higher ranks can play with their friends vs more balanced team then surely quite a few people would stop smurfing.

BTW I've a few accounts, but I'm going to take a break from this game...

Thanks guys - still not totally comfortable with it but will keep trying various settings.

You wont be good or at your best to start off with new settings. Nothing wrong with 1080p, I think shroud uses that and only drops to get better fps. It can feel slower though but I really like how sharp it is for those pixel headshots down A long, Im firing blind a bit on low res I find

Scream is 800x600 when streaming and I believe he goes upto 1024x768 when competing normally
2.25 and 600dpi is like entry fragger setting maybe, depends what you want. I think that rates as high sens, did you do the test from the video for it

yeah - cheers - going to stick with what I have for now and see how it goes. Thanks

Where did you get that from? He switched between 800x600 and 1024x768 couple times for a bit of time and then if I'm not wrong he stayed with 1024x768. Latest screenshot from his FP from 15 August res is 1024x768...

I play on 800x600, V.low/low, Television. Sens: 1000dpi 500hz, in-game: 0.83 or 0.85 m_rawinput 1. A lot people will find this res unplayable, for me its perfect.

I wouldn't agree with this... so many players on higher ranks and really don't play like it.

Its not just the spread that makes a game 'easier', 1.6 had bigger hitboxes and better reg of the shots. If you knew how to bhop, you could do some cool plays vs AWP, in CS:GO you can only dream of doing. CS:GO is a different game, definitely not easier... you just depend on your luck more than skill.

I didnt spot anything in that demo IC3, you TK'd one person in smoke but I'd not ban you :p

I'm too bad at this game to be called a hacker/cheater, when I read the posts full of hatred I laughed. :p

Like I said, there're better casual players out there, I played couple matches with this bloke before he started streaming/recording... some time ago whilst I was still supreme.
Polish Scream? :)

Played first proper game with new mouse/settings tonight.

Ended up changing early on to 900dpi and 2.0 sensi. Felt 600dpi was too slow for me. High for some, no doubt, but felt decent as a starting point. Will play more at this and see where it goes.

1.6 certainly didn't have better bullet registery

Honestly I don't feel 1.6 was any more skillful of a game than GO, with the exception of awping (you still can bunny hop in GO it's just a lot harder to do consistently).

Also the level of competition in GO is significantly higher from the bottom to the very top.

I just don't know what is going on but I cant get it together anymore.

Aside from being on toxic and uncommunicative teams from countries that don't even speak English (Seriously, I play with one Brit per month if I'm lucky), nothing should have changed. I cant hit a barn door, I get one tapped or pre fired most of the time so I don't even get to fire a shot and it seems the style of play from some is way more aggressive. 1 on 1 I lose 90% of the time.

I spent months just being average which is fine, I'mfine with that with some team topping great wins and always a postive k/d regardless. Now I'm double deaths vs kills and just not able to play in a way that I can enjoy it :(

I wish I wasn't a sad 30 year old idiot that wasn't afraid of making some friends and getting off this solo wagon. Sadly I'm far too introvert for that it seems.

The main thing is the toxic people though. It's so seriously uncalled for and bothers me way more than it should. Seems you lose a counle rounds on the bounce and one child has to throw their toys out the pram and spoil it for everyone.

Guess I need to get practising, and slow my mouse down a bit and learn all over again. Shame becasue I just wanna log on and enjoy a couple games.

Anyway, that ends my Apathy Thursday rant as being utterly dire at CS:GO and opening up myself to some abuse. Woop! <3

CS is a confidence game and to me it sounds like you are low on it currently.

Go grind a lot of deathmatch and keep playing, everyone has slumps it's normal. Just remember to keep doing the basics during competative games.

Make sure you play with your team mates. Learn some useful smokes and pop flash your team mates in, never go off and try make a big play just make sure you are there to get the trade kill. That goes for everyone when not having the best game: Don't try over compensate with flashy/risky plays just stick to fundamental, basic Cs.

add some people from here! what rank are you?

there is a spreadsheet somewhere with everyone's details on or use my steam link below :D

Agreed - just add some people - had some good games with folk on here. I float between GN3 and GNM at the moment due to lack of time playing but hoping to improve over the xmas break!
