CS:GO Discussion

Problem with real cash exchange is the trust element. You are known here and mm is well established so I imagine that is the best or easiest route.

People do build up reputations on that Reddit section and other places. Theres a mod on twitch I know from a few channels, well known who retails keys to all the streamers at bulk prices and he has made thousands in arbitrage and facilitating deals. He insists he never puts money into steam

I just mess around with the bottom end trash skins but the way I would or can get cash is losing a bet (with skins) but winning the other side of the bet with bitcoin or possibly cash if we talking bigger amounts.
So effectively you have sold the skin for cash just like that and its the worst skins I dump but nobody cares as they just bet it again.
However there is arbitrage risk and it messes up sometimes, I bet WFX vs C9 last night and one website just said 'oh its delayed 3 hours, well Im off the bed so all bets closed' so I end up with a one way bet and unfortunately WFX slipped after 1 map win as they do and c9 +swag took my skins. But it was only junk, no biggy but theres risk there.

My mistake was to bet too early, though rushing last moment is hardly safe either, I could have switched it to C9 and I did think they'd take it but various bet sites said wfx was a maybe win so I took the punt. They are improving but swag is amazing tbh

In comparison from the statistics side, roulette wheel type sites are awful odds and house advantage destroys regular players. There is no hedging possible or skill to judge, that is a lottery type deal. Boring to say but lotteries in UK or USA are a form of taxation. moe 28k

Loving everyone complaining about their new low ranks... No, you were always that rank - it just got grossly inflated due to VAC bans left right and centre...

Only ones with a valid argument are those such as Shimmy/Wink who got smacked by inactivity.

ranks are ever so slightly wonky at the moment or in brianiac terms, large increase in skill variance :p

I did zero pretty much, they mostly gave up after a force cz 2nd buy win. Lots of games like this, much more then in the past

This ^^

Had another game straight after that one on cobble and we were something like 7-0 up and they started vote kicking each other, went down to 1 play and he abandoned the match.

Yet on other games playing with a team of mg1/2 and say 1 le/lem and then getting absolutely smashed by gnm/mg1 with kills up in the high 30's???

We all have off days and bad games but both scenarios seem to be happening a lot lately at the lower ranks.

It was nice getting 2 such challenging games in a row....

I'm not overly bothered about what my rank is but it all seems a bit screwed at the moment. Most games seem to have at least one griefer/mic abuser/wall hacker, and had quite a few games lately with people abandoning after the first round or two.

I know it should be still similar skill and based off the elo but mm quality has deff gone down, may have to try faceit

4 games of ESEA last night after a bit of a break from CSGO.

I'm pretty sure with these new rank changes lower skilled people are joined ESEA or something as they arn't happy with their new ranks..

Games:

16-1 (20 -3-6)
16-8 (24-1-11)
15-15 (20-8-21)
16-11 (28-2-15)

Normally i wouldn't be top fragging in ESEA at all, which is why i think the shift in ranks has brought the newguys annoyed with their ranks over to ESEA.

Has anyone had anything similar?

What are the best alternatives to MM and why?

ESEA, In my experience the players are more mature, they provide relevant info instead of cluttering comms with crap, 128 tick servers, separate ranking system (rws), no hacking and a higher skillcap. the advised level prior to queueing esea is LE/LEM+(before the rank shuffle recently). Although MM ranks are hardly a good judge of skill.

Although it is worth mentioning if you play and well, generally suck or arn't ready for ESEA then they'll probably bash you for it.

I believe FACEIT is also another good alternative. I'm pretty sure it also has a free server also it is 128tick.

I think there are more although i personally haven't tried them :)

Thanks Ashley, I will have a look at both.

Are they both easy to sign up and get going?

I was MGE before the shake up but I haven't tried since. I always solo queue and it ends up annoying me. I'm hoping the quality of players and your own team will be better outside of MM.

I quite like the fact these services offer 128tick servers as well :).

No Probs,

You can sign up to ESEA here: https://play.esea.net/ although it does require a monthly subscription.

Faceit here: https://play.faceit.com/ which i believe last time i checked was free, although if you want to join the ranked ladder you have to subscribe monthly also.

I would recommend you try faceit first to get a taste of what you might be getting in ESEA. or alternatively check the spreadsheet somewhere lurking in this thread with most of the overclockers who play CSGO and try to queue with them.

SoloQ is very very toxic i cannot stand it.. although it could be pretty demorilizing going up against smfcs/elites on 3rd party match making services.

When i first started on ESEA it was very very hard, but you are constantly learning if you are willing. Good luck with whatever you choose mate, i'm sure other people in this thread have some other alternatives as well!

game vary so much now, i can play a game an be hammered 6-20 type scores, next game i dominate 30-5 type scores. Both in MG1 bracket.

I bounce between GN4 and MG1 now. My friend has ranked up and down in the same day between 4 games. i seem to be holding MG1 now but i expect to rank down today as yesteray was some shocking games.

You should just have the same stuff as you would if you were legitimately queuing MM, meaning nothing which will assist you in any way giving an advantage over other players :)

I don't; but I know that the ESL bans certain console commands (mat_hdr_enable) being one of them.

I just spent quite a long time re-writing my Autoexec.cfg script, so I don't want to find out that parts of it are invalid when I get on the servers; I'd rather find out in advance so I can fix it ;)

It's around 600 lines long soooooooo..... yeah....

Seriously, if your autoexec is 600 lines wrong you are doing it so so wrong.

edit. Also any stuff not allowed is locked out of use such as sv_cheats 1 & noclip. An autoexec is meant to have something like rates, crosshair, binds and viewmodel in not a 600 line monstrosity.

Actually it's more to do with the way I have laid it out, and how some of the keybinds / alias' work.

In theory I could trim out around 200 lines of blank space, random echo's and additional unused config (other crosshair designs I've been testing, other colours etc.)

Hi peeps, is anyone going to i57?

2 friends and I are going, and we want to enter the CS:GO tourny.
We're around LEM/SMFC in terms of MM skill.

We're already paid up and confirmed as going, just need to pick up 2 more (2 of my RL friends who originally wanted in have dropped out, boo!)

If you fancy getting involved and making a few friends along the way, please add me on the link below which is my main account and we can get chatting. I actually met the 2 other chaps in question at an iseries LAN in 2009 and have been friends ever since.

That is such tremendous overkill.

I also dislike your grenades section... I would rather (and have) simply set each grenade to a single key and then pressing the relevant keys based on your economy and the strats you're running... Having default nade binds is peculiar and can often not work with certain strats. Say the strat called for two flashes and a molly, or a smoke and molly - you couldn't get that with your binds, you'd have to used the buy wheel, which defeats the purpose of binds! :p

Also, what the hell do you need millions of echoes for? A single echo that shows on game startup telling you its exec'd is all you need. Hell, an echo to tell you its running ("initializing", hahahahahaha) and then another one to tell you its running again?
