CS:GO Discussion

Reading your post, sounds like you just played the game on public servers...

I would have been major bored of the game had I done that for 5 years. Game was never meant to be played that way, is meant for 5v5 matches which is so much more fun, plus they don't need to change anything in regards to content if the numbers are still there playing it.

I've played from beta 5.0 remember getting a PC for Christmas and playing it back in 1999 on Xmas day!! How sad playing Counterstike for 13 years lol. But I could not have played just on publics. Had to keep taking it a step further and attended many lans.

Not sure if there are any old school CS people on here that played in any lan tournys...? But for anyone that did do you remember the playing fields in London? ukterrorist lans, landed lan, 4kings lan events etc The good old days when you had to play on default config ;)

I used to play on a tactical server in america (Now tacticalgamer.com) and also was a member of a clan on clanbase when that was the only real league out there. The Tactical gamer server was amazing, everyone played tactically, covering each others backs etc, felt very realistic. At one point the clan i was in was 13th in the Clanbase UK league. We played 4kings a few times (leader of my clan was mates with one of them).

I guess its just nostalgia from the past and "missing" a period of my life, that sounds very sad i guess but i had so many online buddies then and one recently past away making me think about those "good old days". Unfortunately old screenshots of funny points in games, and even videos was lost in a HDD crash a few years ago, so its all just in my head now.

Kinda dumb question but. I haven't played since the source days. Is this like.. the NEW GAME? That most people are going to start playing now? Is cs_office in it?

Might have to buy this then. Would everyone recommend it?

I haven't really been following it that well other than seeing the trailer which was released way back and didn't think much of it then. Loved the original CS and still go on CSS sometimes. :)

Is it worth just waiting for the full release?

Id say its worth it, get it for £10 while you can.

Beginning to enjoy this more and more now, especially as just went 20:2 kdr on dust :D

Still no got hang of recoil yet though.

I'm finding the 'reg' to be very hit and miss and very much dependent on the server. A lot of the time, you will be aiming at the head, and if anything you will be aiming abit higher than the head, yet you're first few bullets end up hitting arms/neck which seems retarded recoil goes up not down :/. Ah well, some servers the reg seems perfect and others you put 20 bullets in someones back and none hit.

Also a question: is there a delibarate delay between when you kill someone and it appearing in the kill feed. I seem to shoot, go back into cover, and then the kill feed will show the kill. That lag, or just the way it is?

Also the 'feel' of this game seems so bad. It's hard to tell when you hit someone, I don't know how to explain it, in 1.6/source you could 'tell' when you hit someone because of the feedback, on this Idk if I've hit someone or not. Just seems to have no feel at all.

I seem to be getting better performance on high ping servers than low ping. Is this down to settings that I can change, or is it just a case of messed up netcode (I've experienced the same thing on BC2 quite a few times)?

well played for 2 days and so far I can finally say the main put off point.

The spray, in cs, 1.6 and source one can walk and still have controlled burst, ie you aim well and time bursts well the bullets are accurate. Even run and gunning can be accurate.

In GO you have to sit / be perfectly still to get that accurace, no more walking and guning, run and gunning as bullets then go anywhere but where you aim.

That whole "you must be still" is making the game tidious and boring in my view. Run meet enemy both of you sit down and shoot in bursts, that's boring as ****

How about falling, can you jump out a window and be accurate at all for a sec

Delay kill feed would be a way of improving tactical gameplay as you must visually confirm deaths
I dont know if thats why

Since a update from the last night, i seem to have rubber banding issues. Anyone else got this problem?

Hmmm it is just pretty much the same as CSS... You just need to learn to time it properly so you are still for a split second while u fire then move again.

I am really confused by this game. It looks rather brilliant at times, and other times it looks like a random 'mod' made by the community for CSS. I get 'into' the game, and then just as quickly something stupid occurs and I am quickly reminded how this Counter-Strike is far from perfect.

I see the potential in it, but it still feels like there is much to be improved.

The remake of the map "office" looks terrible... Worse than CSS
