Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty DLC expansion

The visuals in this expansion are beyond the base game, Reed's Thorton for example, not yet seen a cabin that accurately textures Alcantara, yet here we are with perfectly smooth high fidelity surfaces that may as well be CGI but it's real-time and looks so good in motion :o

And this also begs the ultimate question, how have CDPR managed to make a game like this (inc the base game), to load from cold so quickly, and a save state loads within 4 seconds, it's a technical masterclass in how to do a game release that actually performs better than the sysreqs otherwise suggests

Finding it a bit slow so far and a lot of platforming. Not too far in just killed the Chimera. Not really sure what's going on with the story either all a bit confusing.

I watched a couple of videos of it and noticed there was a lot of platforming or similar gameplay which isn't personally for me.

The game is a bit hit and miss visually for me - too many places where 2 detailed surfaces come together without any real connection, things which have been modelled in high detail stuck together, etc. and sometimes stuff which has obviously been sculptured in very high detail crunched down automatically losing *something* in the process though I'm guilty of that myself.

A good example of that are some billboard adverts, each time the game loads it rotates what ads are shown on various billboards, some of those ads are very low res whilst others are very high - Kind of jarring up close but just walk past and continue really.

I found this shard in one of the air drops and am now paranoid if I miss this, says secluded area, is there such a place in DT?!

When is the best time to start this? I got the game at launch but never played it as it was a mess. Now with 2.0 I decided to play this and absolutely loving it.

I am at the point where I can start the DLC but not sure if it's best to wait. Any advice would be appreciated. Just done the voodoo boys missions.

Completing Phantom gets you a new ending to the main game, so before you meet Hanako at Embers which starts the point of no return, complete Dog Town and then that would give you a relevant ending which ties the whole saga together from what I have read.

I like that some gigs have you travelling in and out of Dog Town too, like those car delivery side jobs. You aren't just isolated to Dog Town for the entirety.

That's what I'm doing, pushing towards the point of no return in the main quest before doing PL and hopefully I'll trigger the new ending if I get all the choices in PL correct

I've found 3 airdrops so far with high tier guns/mods and all were near the calliente restaurant

Yes just causally dossing about in the game and my 4090 is comfortably sitting at 80 degrees, it's at 80% power limit too and the fans for the first time ever in the quiet VBIOS mode are putting them to 1300rpm, they should normally be around 1100rpm

Path tracing is certainly a GPU stress test.

Happy to report absolute stability though even after a 4 hour marathon in the middle of the night. I keep it in the quiet VBIOS mode because it's super quiet, and intend to keep it that way

I'm just using 1440p dlss/fg/rt with everything cranked.

The nice thing is as usual the fan hasn't even kicked in thanks to how efficient this undervolted 4070 is with the dual vbios quiet mode :) Love a silent rig!
Surely it makes no difference when you have a decent headset to wear because you of course understand that the sound is just as important as the graphics? ;)

Naa not as good as a decent headset that is right there against your ears
I have a big collection of headphones, I love headphones (using HD800S as I type). Different headphone depending on music genre. But for gaming and movies, I much prefer the home cinema. Better effect and can feel the explosions.
