Cyberpunk 2077 Ultra performance

U wot m8? :)

In Multithreading an 8600K is not much different to a 7700K, its yet another BS upgrade from Intel, its a 6 core 6 thread CPU vs 4 core 8 thread of the 7700K, it doesn't have enough resources to run a game like this, this was always going to happen eventually with CPU's like this, Toms shows a 7700K run like a bath tub full of rusty nails in this game, we are not in the 4 core + HT era, the 3600 has a higher IPC than Coffeelake and 6 cores 12 threads.

As for the 5600X.... well that makes a 10900K look midrange.

But your making it sound like my 3600 is the poor mans entry to playable gaming! ;)

I find it's best to use the NVidia in-game game filter to play about with the Sharpening, just alt-z and add a game filter, you can adjust the slider dynamically and dial in on a setting that looks best for you. I went with the default 0.5 as it seems about right, anything higher and the game looks oversharpened to me.
Thanks!! Switched to Nvidia recently never knew you could do this, really nice to be able to switch it on and compare in game.

really? my 8600k has been fine

60-70fps ultra everything at 1440p with a 6800
not even had any hitching or laggyness or noticable framedrops, seems fine to me?

On a i58600k with a 3090 at 1440p and the CPU just can't deal with it, setting changes have no impact. At this stage im not sure if its the game or a real bottleneck.

Yeah, sounds like the 3090 is overkill. If you’re looking for a new home for it... :p

That's a bit more than the 10900K gets, but Toms are using an Nvidia GPU, i don't know if that has anything to do with it.

I'm responding to StevoIRL, he says his 8600K is at 100% load, looking around at CPU benchmarks of this game i can see that just looking at the slides.

check out GN Steve's CPU bench which highlights some 1% low issues with such CPUs. I tested modified exe since a few days on this 5800X and doesn't seem too different tbh.

Yes, he did single these out for bad frame times, along with the 3300X, a 4 core 8 threads Ryzen CPU.

Performance on the chart (Without the Ryzen fix) he said to wait for frame times as this doesn't tell the whole story.

And here it is.

crazy - haven't really noticed it in game but will have a look tonight

either way I'm not playing £400 upgrade for a 10 fps increase and getting rid of the 1% thing that I even haven't noticed yet :D

I take it a 2700X will still do alright in this game when paired when a 3090 @ 4K?

Don’t really want to upgrade that until the next gen Ryzen unless it’s completely unavoidable.

It’s why I opted for the 8 core 16 threads in the first place, a bit of longevity.

How is he even pushing 100+ avg fps with all CPUs, staring at the sky?

I just did a 720p test run, driving around, running and walking around for 10 minutes and my 3800xt capped out at around 100fps, yet he gets 130+? Must be in one of the starting lifepaths where absolutely nothing is happening.

At that res it should be fine.

It will be fine, but we might need CD Projekt Red to patch the AMD CPU issues first.

Cheers guys. :D

Thought it would probably be the case but appreciate the confirmation. Now if only I can find a 3090FE...

[Streaming]
MinStreamingDistance = 600.000000

it was 1.0
probably going about it wrong I think there is a cap on rendered details, will play with it some more.

screenshot were taken at different times but notice the 2 pipes beside the fans.
Tried 1000, but it started falling apart, it wasn't loading in textures at all in some cases but in others it was taking 1-2 minutes. The CPU was also getting murdered but it wasn't totally maxed out. Weirdly it started reloading stuff too, even though I had plenty of vram to spare - it was at 9.5 GB out of 16.
Tried 500, was fine but couldn't notice much difference without a side by side. It also started exhibiting the not loading textures or models at all issue but much rarer, as I kept playing.
Tried the boost thing you mentioned also, didn't notice a difference either, but that also has problems loading stuff in if you push it too far.
Not much effect on fps with any of 'em.

Look forward to people figuring it out, in the meantime the only one that does something and it's something big is this:

[Rendering/AsyncCompute]
DynamicTexture = false

Hellooooooo proper HQ texture lod loading!
