Cyberpunk 2077 Ultra performance

Anyone playing CP2077 actually enjoying the game? I am and RT off is still decent but RT on is another level and whilst the game is bugged, the perofrmance level on my 2080Ti at 3440x1440 is very acceptable with DLSS. Anyone who is a little clued up knows that RT is a big performance hit but thanks to DLSS, you get the performance back and I don't tend to spend time taking screenshots and then getting my monocle out and examining every detail and tend to let the game flow, whilst I enjoy it.

Lol, keep deflecting without addressing the actual issue of why water physics and effect have regressed so far in a 2020 game. Even Witcher 3 had some water simulation and looked better compared to CP2077.

I'm not, if you read up. What I realised was that we were comparing physics based lighting to fantasy. And so I decided to google New York sunny day. Now compare the actual shots of water to CP 2077 and your fantasy styled renders.

I agree with this about small bugs usually, there may be some fairly bad ones that can be game breakers. The CPU cores bug, the VRAM but with RT on, or the saved games bug are not acceptable. It is clear they released without ant proper QA.

As far as other aspects outside graphics we have the police litteraly popping in to view and the fact they can't drive cars. These are serious gameplay affecting design decisions that should simply not be there and break immersions immensely.
None of those things took anything away for me personally. None were game breaking. Sure I would like less bugs etc like the next guy, but those are not the things I personally have an issue with this game with. I would actually say that had they been able to live up to the expectations I had, the things you say may have stuck out more and been immersion breaking.

I am close to the end I think, pretty much done everything on the map, so will give my final opinion once I am done.

I am now close to 70 hours in. Not many blue icons left at this point. All gigs seem to be done. Only yellow icons now are cars I have to buy, which there is about 10 left. I can probably get that done by soon by just crafting to make money. I think tomorrow I will just finish the game off.

I really am enjoying it, even though it is not as good as I expected.

I'm sure many are enjoying it but there is another forum for general game talk. Here is where those interested can disect and analyse the next gen techniques used in game and the performance impact associated. Unless we need another sub forum for that kind of talk? :p

Maybe if you could run RT, you would actually like it.......

:D :D :D

I'm over 100 hours in have barely started Act 2. Doing a lot of side missions, in a stealthy manner hence the play time. As you say it does look great with RT off, but then it draws me in like no other game so far with RT on. This is the first game I've bothered taking screen shots of.

At first I thought the cheese went off the scale with Keanu Reeves, but then it pulls back and works really well. The first time in V's appartment with Keanu was excellent, a very effective way to explain what was going on. The main and some side stories are definately dark enough to send a shiver down the spine. Very much enjoying the whole experience.

Some DLC is comming early next year. It may just be some cosmetics.

Losing a save file meaning you have to go back to an earlier save, or a CTD due to a VRAM bug quite literally meet the definition of "game breaking". The fact they don't impact you personally does not somehow make it OK. I have had a number of CTDs, been randomly killed twice due to my car falling through a bridge and have lost count of the times the police randomly teleport right in front of me.

As for the other gameplay decisions they are outside the scope of this thread I suppose.

Well the save bug was due to a limit of 8MB, which has now been corrected. I'm sure I read that the way to break that 8MB was cheating or using a trainer, karma :D

I have found nothing mentioning the 8mb bug being down to cheaters, it was related to people crafting too many items and in fact your own post indicates it was fixed by CDPR. Why would CDPR fix a bug that only impacted cheaters?

If you are on about the 8mb save file, don't know of anyone here it impacted. I have done tons of crafting and I mean tons and my save file is 5.7Mb. Besides it was fixed pretty quickly was it not? So yeah just seems like you are looking for things to **** on the game rather than enjoying what is there.

I am at 68 hours and there is like at most an hour worth of blue icons left to do. After that I will resume the main story which I think there is only a few missions left. So unless more stuff opens up after doing those missions then I maybe done before hitting 80 hours.

Sorry but this is a BS response and from that post you single out the 8mb save bug to state I am just looking for excuses to "****" on the game. Fixed or not it was indeed game breaking, or what about the CTDs with the VRAM issue cause by RT being enabled? This is a bug I got a few times myself on the RTX 2080 even at 1440p.

I may think the game is sub-standard in many areas and average across the board but I am just as entitled to comment on it without it being declared as "****". Maybe I should call you and all the others who like it brain dead sycophants? Would that be OK?

Anyone else finding random performance tanks due to GPU power reducing? I'm getting a pretty consistent 60-70fps at 1440p, pretty much all settings on 'high', RT on medium and DLSS quality, then at times it tanks to 30ish. Looking at Afterburner overlay, the power usage is dropping from 240w to 140-150w while the usage and clocks stay at full.

Check your vram usage when it happens, there possible memory leakage issue with RT in the game. Not sure what GPU you have. Essentially what seems to happen is whatever they use for streaming assets and textures eventually gets broken and it stops working the way it should. This can also happen even if you have free vram not used as the game engine can't use it when it's in that broken state even though it's available.

Supposedly people were duping items with a trainer, this was for crafting and money earning. At a guess CDPR fixed it as it's a single player game and it's up to the individual if they want to cheat or not. That's just the snow flake society we live in these days.

The game saves often and also uses many save slots. Have you lost more than a few minutes due to crashes?

Oh my...

I will leave it there I think.

But someone can use Cheat engine to get more money, why spending time with crafting?

The first thing I had to say when I enabled DLSS was "EWWWWW Blurry!". Then I hijacked a car and was instantly thrown out of any immersion thanks to taillights and tires having ghosting(viewable on stills so, not a monitor problem). To be fair to DLSS, the blur can be mitigated by Nvidia's own sharpening filter and the issues with ghosting has so far been isolated to just CP2077 and haven't been present in the 2 other games I've tried. That said, if issues pop out within 5 seconds of use then I would say the tech has some ways to go but I like the idea of it as long as people don't label it something it's not.

Members of the jury have you reached a verdict?
We have, your Honor.
What say you?
We the jury, in the case of CB2077 & it's use of RT and DLSS versus the Consumer find the defendant GUILTY:
-Misrepresenting RT as "life like" and "Accurate"
-DLSS for blurring the image quality to improve frame rates
-Bugs that haven't been fixed to this day
-Missed expectations and lying to investors
-Missed expectations and lying to consumers

Thank you, Jury, for your service today. Court is adjourned.
:D
