*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

Has anyone seen the "leak" where they say that the Day 1 patch is 56.3 Gb ? Thats a pretty hefty patch if true, almost a whole game redownload

That seems like an odd video..he starts by mentioning that a dev says that Night City is slightly smaller than Witcher 3 mapsize but by the end of the video, he has Night City being over 10 times the size of Witcher 3. So either the dev was wildly wrong or his calculations and size conclusion are way out.

I haven't had the time to look at yet. Maybe he means it's 10x as dense?

I've not watched, but I swear I remember reading that the map is very large vertically due to us being able to go in many of the buildings on multiple levels. Could be wrong though.

Well he has Witcher 3 as 18km2, GTA as 105km2 and concludes that Night City is an X/Y of 225km2. Which seems Hugely contradictory to the dev, literally 10 times as big, over twice the size of GTA5. Doesnt seem right to me...225km2 is bigger than World of Warcraft, its almost the same size as the much regarded "too big" world of AC Odyssey

Could it be combining all the floor space in the buildings? I swear I read a dev or someone saying that a huge amount of interior space will be accessible, so the map might not be 10X bigger, but maybe the actual interactive areas will be?

Dont think so, he makes no mention that he has accounted for the z axis, all his calculations and deductions are based solely on x and y. IMO he has got it wildly wrong, I cant see how it can possibly be 225km2. That would be completely the opposite to CDPR , who said it was not larger than Witcher 3. Even Witcher 3 plus its addons, is 135km2, so he is saying that its 75% larger than Witcher 3 plus its addons. Not even including the vertical size. He's wrong I reckon, I dont think its going to be anywhere near 225km2

Yeah GTA is now 89, RDR 2 is 111

GTA and The Witcher are 7/5 years old.
You really can't compare a seven/five-year-old game's to a 2020 game release given the higher textures more dense environment etc and newer tech. I would have expected RDR2 install size on PC and new-gen.
Looking around, the map size does not seem massive and there is no multiplayer content bolted on.

GTA on PC isn't 7 years old. It's 5, and is only so big today due to the huge amount of content they have added to it over the last 5 years, on release it was approx. 55 gb

Looks like I'm going to be going in to the game without a 3080. If it runs alright on my current set up I'm just going to cancel my order. Shame really.

So what's the actual size of the map compared to Witcher 3 then? Or is just speculation and guessing? I mean I can wait 6 days but I'm also eager.

They've said multiple times that it's going to cover a smaller surface area than W3 but will be a lot more vertical with all it's skyscrapers and buildings you can enter. I don't think they've mentioned the measurements of it, unless I'm mistaken.

Its all just speculation and guessing at this point, a dev said it was smaller than Witcher 3, though the dev didnt specify if they meant the W3 basegame or with the addons, if we assume its with the addons, then that puts Witcher 3 at 135km2..the guy in the above video has done some "calculations" and works the Cyberpunk map out at 225km2, which is obviously WAY bigger than what the Cyberpunk dev stated. So something doesnt add up, I'm personally more inclined to believe the dev than some guys "calculations" and am prone to suspect that the 225km2 is wishful thinking because of wanting it to be bigger than other games.

I personally wouldnt want it to be 225km2, thats in AC Odyssey territory in size and the larger the map size gets the more likely copy/paste or large areas of no content is to occur. So I'm hoping that it is indeed smaller like Witcher 3, but chock full of content.
