These appear to not be the final graphics quality but I'm rarely impressed these days. Given the spec of hardware now and what DX12 is capable of I just expect more. The E3 trailer level is what I'm calling impressive but I imagine that is all prerendered and well beyond today's hardware?

I'm a huge fan of CD PR but a few things concerned me about the gameplay. Huge texture pop in, crowds walking through each other and their graphical down grade. The witcher 3 was night and day between showcase and release. I want this to work. I really do, but I am a little concerned.

And yet nowhere near release...

By the time the game comes out, a 1080 Ti will only be able to play it well on medium...:(
It is possible, but one would think there is room for driver optimisations yet? So maybe high settings at 1080p. This game will need a 3080Ti to play overkill 4K 30 fps is my prediction. Lol.

Question is, will the difference in IQ from overkill to ultra be day and night, or another case of not being able to tell while playing and having to do still shots to see the small differences like many games are today?

I think it's possible that by the time it comes out, the game will be more demanding than the demo we saw.

If it's 12-18 months from release then much of the final work is bug fixing and optimisation. And they always go OTT on machine spec for showcases as they want to show it off at it's best. No juddering or slowdown

That spec was running the game at under 60FPS at 1080p though and 4K is 4 times the amount of pixels!!
Not sure what your point is. 4 times the pixels hardly ever means 4 times the performance being needed :)

Doubt it. Optimisated code and drivers makes a big difference.

I sure hope that 1920 x 1080 is not the max resolution, considering the slider is all the way to the right ? I hope there will be widescreen support, 3440 x 1440 ! :o :p

You know when you get the feeling that something just seems too good to be true? This game looks as deep as a mammoth's tubular tract...

It's probably based on display, silly goose ;)

I haven't read all the thread. The trailer and the gameplay trailer look amazing, but I will wait until it gets hit by the inevitable downgrade that all hyped games receive - Witcher 3, Watch Dogs, Rainbow 6: Siege, the list is endless and people like to forget it happened and will happen again.

The demo at E3 was running at 30FPS using the same hardware and that is with no Hairworks or RTX enabled features activated which will affect performance.

Last time I checked the RTX2080TI isn't even twice as fast as the GTX1080TI,and even if it was,you need to push 8 times as many pixels per second, for the game in its current state,to get 60FPS at 4K,unless you use some sort of resolution scaling.

This game needs a ton more optimisation,so it might be a while away.

Even then unless the graphically gimp the game like they did with The Witcher 3,this is probably going to be very demanding at 1080p,let alone 4K!!

I would be content with upto 60fps at 1080p tbh. Just don't want to have to spend nearly a grand to achieve it. :s

1080p is £100 monitor territory,so I would be very surprised if it couldn't get that on a £300 to £400 card at launch especially if its launching on consoles too.

Hang on a jiffy, I thought the demo they showed us a month or so ago was 4K30 with a 1080Ti? That was running at 1080p all along? Swear DF claimed 4K. My 980Ti is trembling.
