*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

For everyone loving this game as I am, can we started sharing tips?

Tip 1 - If you go to back of your car to the boot you can store your items in your stash.

Tip 2 - If you hold the summon car button you can select any car from your garage.

Tip 3 - If you take all items with you, you end up walking really slow. It's because you quickly picked up everything and became slow because of weight, not because you are injured. It took me ~30 mins to realise this before I eventually worked it out how to drop things like loads of clothes

I've managed to fix my FPS! I found an obscure thread on reddit talking about the asus suite III software. I installed this months ago and deleted shortly after, apparently deleting isn't enough and only a format will do.

I'd used the hex editor, power management, config tweaks and saw maybe 5-10 fps more (coming from 50-60 fps). I also saw no change when changing resolutions from 1080p, 1440p or 4k. (same 60-70 fps). Now I've formatted (not even on the latest drivers) I am getting 150 on 1080p and 100-120 on 1440p.

So looks like it's solved! Hope this helps someone else. If you want to try a fresh format, you can partition C and give it ago that way. I'd been looking for hours for a fix!

Specs 3080 FE and a 5600x

Nice, what settings? Presuming not 100fps with RTX enabled

Tip 4 - Shard menu appears when highlighting journal in the hub(?) menu. Took me way too long to figure out how to access it.

I'm enjoying the game but it really is "janky" and glitchy. The world/sound is amazing and feels like a bustling city but the AI is absolutely terrible (traffic, pedestrians and enemy), you can just sit behind a wall and headshot enemies with a sniper rifle after pinging a security camera. In my opinion they should have release console versions a year later and concentrated on PC only (I mean it's usually the other way around with all the console exclusives:p).

Assume this is without RT enabled?

I'm getting 45-50fps with the following:
3440*1440p
5600x
RTX3070
High settings
RT ultra
DLSS balanced

I figured that was about right, considering 1440p ultrawide on a 3070 with balanced DLSS. Disabling RT doubles it to around 90fps

It’s a strange game.

On the one hand, it’s fun just going for a wander and I often walk between objectives rarely looking at the map and stumbling from area to area. It’s a very well designed city.

On the other, it’s absolutely full of bugs, but all minor so far.

Then you have the AI, or lack of. Came across one of those areas the cops want you to clear out. They seemed to have an invisible wall they couldn’t go past, so I just hid round the corner chucking grenades at them.

Im still trying to workout where the developers invested their time.

Also, I keep coming across cordoned off crime scenes. Can I do anything with them other than get shot?

Strange is pretty much on the money but on the other hand it's possibly the most immersive game I've played due to the sheer amount of ambient noise, colour that goes on and the feeling of the size of the city when walking around. I.e verticality

Wab reporting this morning that YouTube have "censored" his video as it no longer features in your subscription list and I'm not sure its actually even searchable. I didn't even think the review was even that bad, he definitely spent a long time going through all the good things about the game.

whats the link to the video?

I seriously dislike the guy, he's a total idiot, even if I do or do not agree with his review. He's just a sad grumpy man with little to no understanding of the games industry. If it doesn't suit what he likes, then it's the 'worst game ever'. Utter pleb. Anyone who takes his reviews as gospel are in the same boat.

Edit, and no, I've not watched his CP2077 review, I can barely get through 5 seconds of his videos, let alone one designed purely for clicks.

All of the review industry are after your clicks, its why they make such a big deal about embargo dates as they keep griping on about how been first out the door gets those clicks. So not sure why he is considered any different there.

He seems my type of reviewer, not afraid to pull punches, but will see not watched any of his reviews yet.

Agreed hate his videos, he is not objective or reasonable, just whines a lot.

There is room for independent reviewers who are not biased, but I'd find another one who is actually worth watching.

How do you be honest and critical without appearing to whine?

I just watch his cyberpunk review he actually likes the game, but correctly doesnt downplay the bugs. He is suggesting to people to wait 6-12 months and then buy/play it.

What about that that do you consider whining?

ultra mainly, yep no rtx. I've played around with it and just prefer the game with high fps now, I played 10 hours or so with 50-60 so feels much nicer at this framerate.

Tip 5 - Remove scopes you like from your weapons before dismantling or selling them so you can use them again on your next weapons.

Tip 6 - If you like a weapon you can keep it indefinitely by levelling it up in the crafting menu.

Well I'm 21hrs in so far, having never played or heard of the original or sequel and it's been a pretty steep learning curve for some of my less "intuitive" items like cyberware, crafting and the whole "hacking" side but overall I'm enjoying it, although a lot of its core mechanics are extremely "samey" to a few other games I've played - GTA5 and Ghost Recon Wildlands in particular.

I've not had any game breaking glitches or bugs etc so far (the odd visual oddity at most) and my gaming Laptop 7700k and GTX1070 are playing this at Low settings at 4k very well and it still looks surprisingly good at Low (far better than 1080p high did, which looks far less sharp).

I've only done a little of the main story (just about to try and get the Relic from the Hotel room) and instead I've been doing all the side missions to build my character up a little before attempting the full story and, even after 20+ hrs I'mn still not bored and using the side missions for practice should make the main mission a little easier I hope.
