*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

What would you suggest for my screen? and what should I use for dlss sharpening?

I suggest using Windows HDR Calibration tool. Then using the latest DLSS file from techpowerup.com :)

Once you run the HDR tool you will get to see what your max brightness is which you can input into the game.

To be honest @mrk is the pro at this stuff, if he has any other ideas he can chime in as I am not playing Cyiat moment. I just briefly installed it to try out the PT update. Managed to escape without ordering a 4090

Other than windows HDR Calibration, just make sure the game brightness adjustment is done and that's all.

There's nothing to change on the display as HDR controls all that.

This was a thing even on normal RT Psycho, it's just the way the RT engine reacts as you move the camera around, there's a slight lag for the ray tracing to catch up if that makes sense,

Even with the latest incarnations of ray tracing/path tracing only a certain number of rays are used per-frame and samples are accumulated over several frames and then denoised to produce the output. While ray tracing hardware has come on in leaps and bounds we are still some way from being able to do every ray in one frame and anything close to that needs a dedicated unit on the GPU as things stand.

Yeah that's what I mean, the delay is the rays + number of bounces catching up. In practice you are unlikely to pay attention to it unless looking for it.

Have to say this continues to impress me the more I explore the deeper areas of Night City. There is an obvious difference in lighting realism with path tracing vs Psycho RT that, at this point, makes Psycho RT look old gen. I also have to mention that the faded black tone of the original CP2077 has long gone and now we have actually proper black levels. I look back at early screenshots in the thread I posted and marvel at how old gen they look compared to now! And even though the path tracing is just a limited number of rays + bounces, it still adds realistic depth that seems to make NC feel more alive.

I was walking past this scene this morning to work and could not help but think about the game with PT lol:

Then when i got home I jumped into the game, set the time to around the same as the photo above and went to find some similarly lit areas where PTGI could do its thing:

I also really like how doorways now burst in sunlight and those bounces work wonders with the scene:

The thing those screenshots don't really convey is how much the little touches like the specular highlights on the barrels and the pipes above them capturing the bounced light from the doorway accurately and dynamically improves the visuals - once you get used to it going back to older rendering tech looks like a real step backwards.

Yup those little details.just keep impressing. I have over 200 hours on the game now and completed so now it's just exploring and finding shards or busting open doors with force that I missed previously. Enjoying just doing that and taking in the new visuals

Finished this for the first time yesterday, really enjoyed it! It's had its hate, but I found it to be a great game.
Glad to read that, was thinking about picking it up. Don't think my 6800XT will manage high/ultra at 4K but I'm sure I can get the game looking great regardless.
