*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

Well ****... half and hour of play and I had a crash to black screen, rebooted and ten minutes later I appear to have a dead 4090, zero display after POST other than a few artifacts in one corner of my screen

Check your 12VHPWR cable, sounds like a melting issue with it if black screens are involved :S Assuming you used the nvidia adapter or cablemod if so?

Is the nvidia game ready drivers needed for 2.0 update and phantom liberty?
Recommended as it specifically mentions DLSS 3.5. No reason not to update anyway.

It's not a complete black screen, there are artifacts, I'll check the connectors later when I get the chance.

Runs very smooth on my 4080, having stopped in the city and dabbled between DLSS Quality and performance, there is a very very slightly degradation with performance (slight blurr), however it was quite hard to notice without analysing it for some time.

The ray reconstruction is nice, again, very minimal change, these changes whilst playing the game may be hard to notice, however, these miniscule changes are absolutely important when you've paid eye watering amounts for hardware.

Very impressed by how the game runs on 4090 with DLSS 3.5, been enjoying my new play through.

You don't buy a 4090 for just 1 game though, improves every game you play!

Not defending the price but can't argue with the performance, if it's your main hobby then it's justifiable to some degree.
You don’t need to justify anything here. Your money your choice you do what you want. Enjoy your card pal

You don't have to justify what you spend your money on to anyone (except maybe your partner ;))

I recall the meltdowns going on when the 4090 price was revealed, people suddenly became very concerned how other people spent their money

Only difference I can see is your FPS:cry:
Never mind that, does each load of Cyberpunk change from a random selection of NPCs?
  1. The waitress in the first photo not only has totally different skin - more than can be explained by lighting, and there is no way lighting can explain the change of hairstyle.
  2. The person in the 2nd row of seats: first he looks like a fat bold biker, then like someone in a formal overcoat which is a bit tight, then someone similar to the first but with a t-shirt instead of a leather/plastic coat.
Maybe mrk really is trying to get us to do a spot the difference puzzle?

Lighting:
well with TR, the hanging lamp is very poor as are the shadows of the bottles.
The dress? Well the first has far to strong a light; the other two, unsure which I prefer - the RR is softer but maybe too soft.
The ceiling texture seems overly blurred in the RR one. The floor tiles a little but not as badly as the TPU scene with the marble becoming totally blurred.

The real problem is that CB has too many simple textures, so for the table or the seating I am unsure what is better. With RR blurring textures a lot, maybe poor textures is purposeful?

Yet people paid £2000 for a 3090 Ti the previous gen etc lol.

For all intents and purposes a 4090 is well worth it's price based on its performance being so high above anything that money can buy.

A 3080 12GB was within arms reach of a 3090 Ti whilst being what £1000 cheaper?!
