*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

Took a walk through pathtraced NC yesterday:

It is kinda funny/sad, I upgraded my CPU and GPU (from 2700X/2080Ti to 5800X3D/3080Ti) to be able to play Cyberpunk with RT at 60fps, and of course they have to add even more impressive fully pathtraced mode that, yet again, takes me back to 30fps. And to get back up to 60 at my desired resolution I would have to get at least 4080. Le sigh :)

But don't get me wrong, I love that they added this forward-facing feature. I will want to replay Cyberpunk in few years again and it will be nice to have it in there.

Finally got round to re-installing some mods after the update.

Of course your first mod is Breast Jiggle Physics. Man of Culture I see.

:D

Motion Blur and DLSS dont play well together there's artifacts and smearing apparent in your video but yeah C2077/RT looks so pretty

ETA Didnt realise NCPD had bikes now

What res are you at?

See having just bought a 4080 I am still hesitant about upgrading monitor from 1440p to 4k because going up to 4k will mean lowering the details etc....

I didn't buy the 4080 with the thought of upgrading the monitor at the time.

As much as I'd love a new monitor my current one is still doing a good job. 28 inch 1440p gsync. Can't complain. It's probably about 7+ years old but still perfectly adequate.

If I bought a new 4k monitor which I have been eyeing the 4080 will struggle at 4k with the level of IQ I demand of my games.

32" 1440p and I am really happy with it, but you upgrade your GPU which needs a better monitor to utilise its full potential. So you buy a new monitor then realise it needs a better GPU to utilise its full potential and on and on

And thats how those pesky companies keep on getting us, over and over :)

Just did an Nvidia driver update 537.42 ( it did mention something about cyberpunk ) and now my FPS seems to have dropped.. Was getting between 85 and 100 on average, now seems to be about 60 to 75

any ideas ?

update: just reset all of the graphics settings, then put them to "high" and turned off RT, then turned on DLSS now back at around 100fps

for some reason a few of the settings had changed to ultra.

I know what the game spec says but they are not always reliable imo. If I wanted 1440p all ultra but no RT what would I need to hit 60fps minium with no dips.

Currently running a laptop with a 3080 but it is not really cutting it. Going back to a desktop attached to the TV, although the TV is 4k 1440p looks just fine.

The GPU is fine but the CPU will be holding things back for sure. You want more powerful cores to support a decent level of % lows to balance out. The system reqs say a 12900K is needed for Ultra RT Overdrive but this is not the case considering I have a 12700KF and am playing at 3440x1440 - It's the GPU that matters more above 1080p as long as the CPU has some decent core configuration to support the GPU.

Switched to DLSS balanced and looking sharper with artifacts all gone.

Bizarre thing happened, not sure if glitch - played an early mission to get a robot. Picked up a "smart weapon" only for it to not turn up in my inventory. Then it appeared 5 minutes later and it's not smart.....

Interesting, i just tested out DLSS Quality vs Balanced as not really bothered to see what's different since Quality ran so well anyway, in this area of Dog Town:

That's a 16fps gain with image quality that appears identical.
