*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

Yup just gone to play - my game is now broken. Uninstalled all mods (only had a couple anyway). Cant launch after update. Also seeing people on xbox saying patch broke their game too, others saying their saves are now corrupted.
just do this..

Running some more testing today with XeSS 1.2 and noticed my frametimes to be a lot more stable (shown by the graph top left) - my guess being that 1.2 supposedly uses much less VRAM compared to DLSS? F knows, but makes for a more stable experience either way...

Edit: It also seems to clear up artefacts previously noticed with DLSS e.g. shimmering on metal wire fences, and reduce ghosting to a point where I can't notice any. The screenshot below was taken at speed and usually I would see ghosting from the tail light of the car in front

Think I'll stomach the slight performance hit for now and take the cleaner image

Am I the only one running this without RT? :D 5800X3D and 6800XT running at 4K native with most settings on high, just without RT. Pretty solid 60fps.

If you can run RT/PT, then no reason not to :p

I just had a message from Steven Santos, he is fed up of Dogtown and wants to meet in NC. That's cool that even though Dogtown is done with, the people I've met in there are still up for doing stuff outside of it as 'm doing stuff in NC. Adds some additional longevity into the expansion/DLC.

I like that a lot. When I used to play WOW I always hated it that you left zones forever, but then they started time travel ******** and some other stuff and I always enjoyed going back to them.

Running everything high settings,pt @ 1440p dlss and frame gen...60fps+, only jumped on for a quick test though as not been gaming much over the last few weeks

It is an advice that results 100% in working game. I have 77GB downloaded in about 10 minutes, so not a huge problem, though I grant you might have slower connection.
As long as you're not an idiot my way is also 100% successful, quicker and doesnt bork your settings. And for a lot of people 77GB is still a 10hr+ d/l

Personally I'm getting fibre this Tuesday as its finally in my area. I live in a town with a population over 20,000. Hate to think how much longer the wait would have been if I still lived in one of the local villages

Copy paste from the GFX forum:

DF have a clip where they discuss a question sent in about CDPR moving to UE5, it's allg ood, but they highlight just how good REDengine is, something I've already mentioned before and people being wary about the move to UE - I think if anyone can do it, CDPR can as the proof is in REDenegine. ANd Nvidia now focusing on UE5 as well means things will go back to what we have with UE5 - Hopefully they can solve UE5 together.

My main takeaway is that you can load up the whole game from desktop in a few seconds, then be in-game walking around and stuff in another 4-5 seconds. To date there isn't any other game that can load a game world like this, so quick, and without any CPU scaling issues or optimisation issues. Quite remarkable really. Ok you have to mod out the intro logo videos and menu delay, but that just highlights that those screens aren't used to mask "loading" but are there purely for branding.

Edit*

Unrelated but forgot this from last night, a passenger got killed but remained in the car I stole, cops gave chase and it erupted into all out mayhem in 1st person. This is why it's so much fun just dossing about in NC :D

Thinking of doing another playthough in next few days, just waiting on some pc parts to arrive but last time I played it was with lmgs and a shotgun iirc, this time round I dunno if I should play something like a netrunner with smgs and pistols or maybe go melee crazy build, what's your guys thoughts ?

Are there any settings you can change to tighten up the driving, playing with a PS controller and feels like I’m driving on ice no sense of traction at all?

This is probably why CDPR are moving to UE5 - made by a kid and a couple of peeps he met on instagram with a $600 budget in 3.5 hours. Just think what a big multi-million pound studio of experienced programmers with 5 years dev time could do.

A pure netrunner can be slow to play as you lurk in corners and kill people remotely through cameras and wait for RAM to recover. There are combat runners using either smart weapons or monowire builds.

Sniper build

pistol build with sandi (my current build, first run was pure netrunner)

Katana build with sandi or a beserk build with fists or club

Wait what - they are changing to unreal engine for future games ?

I'm still getting over the tech. Pretty much instant loading - I always forget in the catch-up screen and I continue to listen to the TV broadcasts

Also, love the way characters seemingly walk into/out of conversations. I don't really notice that jarred 'reset' animation when they jump to the next algorithm which you get in other games.
