No RT with DLSS on. Min FPS of 14.11 :|

Whattttt? This makes no sense?
5700x/4070, can do 60-70's maxed out native 1440p, or 80's-135fps with DLSS3.5/FG/Reflex depending on the area, or 60-70's (and out in the desert 80's-93fps) with DLSS 3.5/FG/Reflex and RT on Psycho again max 1440p but with DLSS3.5... Oh and either of those is with DLSS set to quality (I always choose that whatever the game IF I use DLSS...)

Something weird is going on here?

Yeah, it is strange! I've settled on running everything on ultra with path tracing and DLSS enabled... benchmark result is 48 fps with those settings, but I do get occassional drops in game during scenes with lots going on. It's just strange how lowering graphics settings doesn't seem to help increase FPS, it just lowers GPU usage. It's been absolutely 'fine' and hasn't bothered me too much during the ~80 hours I've put into it. BIOS and drivers are all up to date (including clean Nvidia driver install), I've checked integrity of game files and nothing is running in the background, my temps are fine, so I'm all out of ideas! Other games are completely OK too so I'm pretty confident it's not an issue with my system. Maybe I need to finally pull the trigger on a 4090 to try and narrow down what's going on... :D

Yeah that is very weird mate! I haven't used path tracing well I tried and yeah 36 fps iirc haha! But RT on psycho has been fine with the aforementioned settings.
My gpu usage isn't maxed out either from memory, but don't quote me on that. Never seems to be on anything nor my cpu.

Is it a GOG or steam version? Mine's GOG, not that, that should matter?

Haha that sounds like a perfect solution ;)

The only way I can get it to max my GPU is either:

1) everything maxed out + psycho RT and no DLSS
2) everything maxed out + path tracing with or without DLSS (although path tracing is unplayable without DLSS, but that's to be expected on a 3090).

I have the steam version. I might try reinstalling the game tomorrow (although can't see how it will help, but I'm all out of ideas) but I don't want to risk losing my save file after getting this far... I've completed everything up to embers, all of PL, every side mission, next thing it to continue from the embers meet as I want to try and experience as much as I can across the base game and PL. Had to read a few spoilers and carefully make some of the decisions in game to allow that, as some of the outcomes are quite brutal!

Hmm, I guess just backup your entire steam directory somewhere and any sneaky stuff in documents/settings?

Hang on wont steam back up your saves anyway? I forget.

Yeah I had a pretty spicy new ending thanks to PL, it involved being jumped by some stairs and finally having an ending cutscene? Ring any bells ;)

The steam cloud should yes, but you never know…

Actually might be worth me getting some advise before I proceed any further:

I did all missions in the base game upto the Embers Meet.

I then did all missions within phantom liberty. I decided to side with Songbird instead of Solomon Reed.

I’ve done every side mission now and only have two choices.

I can either go to embers or go and have the surgery with Solomon Reed. My current thinking is to go with the former option as I’ve never actually gone past embers in the base game, and therefore haven’t experienced any of the normal endings…

I understand that if I go for the surgery it results in V losing all of his cyber abilities… which isn’t great as I still want to experience at least one of the base game endings.

Hopefully that all makes sense…

Haha I chose the latter, the ending is savage, good but savage lol. I might have to do it again then and choose a different route hmmm. So annoying this wasn't all built into the game vs the original plot just ending as it barely gets started :(

Yeah I think the trick is to do manual saves at critical points so all endings can be experienced. Only thing I don’t like about that is losing things I’ve progressed, cyberware, eddies (I’ve got over 2 million now haha) etc.

Oh and the bit I forgot to mention is that although I sided with her, I did give her back… hence now having the ‘savage’ option ! Maybe if I progess all the way through embers I’ll have the option to come back to it, not sure if that’s possible or not….

Yeah I know what you mean, I excessively like to save when I remember on games for that reason as you never know and then it's like FUHHHHH I should have done X not Y!

Ah interestingggg!!!

With how buggy GOG and the actual game is, I usually don't bother with updates and fresh install instead which I did this morning, as soon as it was done CDPR pushes out another update it looks like? Got rekt

No RT with DLSS on. Min FPS of 14.11 :|
There is something very wrong with your game installation, or hardware/software setup.
For reference, with 5800X3D and 3080Ti (similar performance level as your 3090), I get:

No RT, ultra, 1440p, DLSS quality - avg 110fps, min 79, max 166

RT ultra, 1440p, DLSS off - avg 43, min 34, max 55

RT ultra, 1440p, DLSS on - avg 83, min 61, max 100

It is as if DLSS was not actually working on your PC. I would try to reinstall the game, or at least re-verify the files, or try custom DLSS dll file from techpowerup.

I feel like I've tried everything. Clean Nvidia driver install, used DDU and then installed nvidia driver, reset BIOS settings, custom DLSS dll file from tech power up, reinstalled the entire game, tried things I've read on reddit like running the game as administrator... same issue. Every other game runs absolutely fine, it's only Cyberpunk that has this issue... I'm just going to finish the game using Overdrive / Path Tracing as that's the only mode that seems to work as it should and fully utilise my hardware.

Seems you get a good chunk more perf than me too (very similar setup) although I am at 3440x1440 but didn't think the difference would be so big:
