*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

Anyone had issues with trying to sprint when using Steamdeck? Google is telling me to hold down left joy stick.. doesn't work for me?

The key bindings on the Deck all changed when 2.0 was released (which was fricking annoying after playing so many hours with one set of bindings) so many of the guides online are now wrong. I can't remember what it was changed to though, have you looked in the controller menu in the game?

I did yeah, couldn't find anything linked to sprint. Annoying as makes it unplayable until I resolve!

The min fps reading could be a red herring, it will register a minimum fps even if you have a single frame hitch because something in the BG caused a CPU pike etc, it will still register that spike so if the fps drops for a single frame to say 14, then it will register that

If 14fps is consistent during multiple bench runs,t hen yes there may be a problem.

There's been more stuff released for the massive puzzle. It's been solved and has been officially confirmed to be over, with one remaining thing to be shown.

How janky is 2.0 base game going to be at 1080p powered by my 4.2GHz i5 2500K and a Vega 56?
Vega 56 should be between 3050 and 2060, good for 45-50fps on its own
for example https://www.techpowerup.com/review/palit-geforce-rtx-4060-dual/10.html and thats without FSR and on high settings
CPU will be a bottleneck. 4 threads and poor IPC.
You will probably want to reduce CPU intensive settings like crown density

But it should pull off 50-60 fps still, 20-30% slower than i3-9100 on this chart https://tpucdn.com/review/intel-core-i3-12100f/images/cyberpunk-2077-1920-1080.png

I agree, my 7700k and GTX 1070 struggled to get 60fps at 1080p unless you dropped every visual quality setting so low that you're missing out on some of the best bits of the game ie the stunning visuals.

Reinstalled for the first time since initial release. Damn, what an improvement. Trivial, but shame they didn't implement the NCART system. Far better game now though.

I am definitely excited to pick this up after waiting since release - should I play the base game or jump straight into the expansion?

I'd highly recommend playing the base game, the story transitions into PL. PL will make little sense if you haven't played the base game and you'll be missing out a lot in terms of getting immersed into the story line.

I'm just coming to the end of the base game after not bothering with the original release after act 1.....

Its now awesome and well worth playing. I'm just at the point of no return, mopping up side quests before getting into the final act and will certainly then buy PL. I must be at near 70hrs of great gameplay

Just completed the racing quest line for Claire Russell, and noticed something rather odd. When I first played the game a few years back, after choosing not to help her seek revenge, and after an additional 40hrs+ completing other quests etc, she sent me a message asking me to visit her. Upon doing so, she said she wanted me dead, and attacked. I can find absolutely no other reference to this anywhere else, nor has it occurred during my recent playthrough. Anyone else had this happen?

I didn't bother with her quest line when I played but I've seen 1-2 mentions of that outcome - I dunno if it depends on the gender of your player or something. I've encountered a few things in the game I've not seen anyone else mention for example the specific ending I got to the main game story I've not seen anyone else mention and not listed as possible endings on any site :s

Been playing this a lot recently and in the Phantom Liberty story at the moment and struggling to enjoy it, all seems very cramped and encounters always end up in fire fights I find, I have been prioritising samurai this playthrough so not doing as well. Hopefully it get more enjoyable soon.

Avoiding spoliers, is it worth getting Phantom Liberty before completing the main quest? Just wondering if it gives you more options regarding V's ultimate fate.

It shouldn’t make a difference really. I decided to do everything I possibly could in the main game up until embers and then instead of going to embers, I did the PL story line and was careful about what I picked and then once PL was complete I went to embers and completed a base game ending. Just make sure you do a manual save before embers or starting PL in case you commit to something you go on to regret I guess. I didn’t have that problem and with the endings I picked I’ve done a PL ending and a base game ending whilst retaining a normal V with all my gear. I can go on and do another ending via embers if I want to…

Main quest has definitive ending, you cannot play PL after the game ends. You can of course load the game from point of no return and play PL then.

But it is imho better to play PL during the game, since it features new skills and is designed to let you roam freely in Dogtown and out.
