D600 with full fat AF system!

Actually it is interesting that the D600 is already down to £1860 from Uk store.
Pretty sure prices will settle to a good level.

I have just seen on JEssops that it is In stock.... Now to take the plunge as i sold my D700 a few months back in preparation for this

If you don't need Pro AF then the D600 is a better camera, much better sensor.
If the AF was really important to you then perhaps pay the extra for the D800.

Either are great cameras.

1/4000th ... I shot a flower this morning outside with overcast at F4 @ iso 200 which is the lowest in normal range for the D700 and i needed 1/6400th, Good luck shooting the TT with a D600 :P:D

ISO 100, and I doubt you want to shoot a flower at f/4.0 - more like f/16!

Or simply over expose and bring back in post and enjoy the improved IQ

D600 sales are pretty high on Amazon US:
http://www.amazon.com/Best-Sellers-...ctronics/3017941/ref=zg_bs_nav_e_4_2476680011

Caveats: amazon is just a single retailer, rank doesn't indicated differences in sales figures, US prices are much better than in the UK, e.g. D600 is $900 cheap than the D800 for a FF camera with similar sensor performance.

Despite some negativity on this forum all over the internet almost everyone is very happy with the specs and sensor performance.

(6D sales may be low on Amazon since it is not in stock. It is interesting though that the 5DMK2 is selling more than the MK3. Is is that canon users are perceiving the mk2 to be a better value proposition than the mk3? you certainly pay a lot to get the pro AF)

D600 sensor in a 5D3 would be awesome.

It is called a D800:D

But yeah, Canon need to sort something out with their Sensor tech, they have gone form world leaders to a generation behind . Panny + Oly seems to have realized that Sony sensors are the way forwards so their aging sensor tech is being pushed out the way.
I'm sure if Canon says please then Sony will sell them sensor tech

It would be interesting to know if Sony would contractually be allowed?
I'm assuming Nikon and Sony would have a cross patent co-operation/agreement that could make things a little complicated?

Otherwise I can't understand why Canon isn't already rocking a D800 sensor...

Yeh but it's a major retailer, large enough to at least show a fairly obvious trend in the northern American market.
Sales positions of the D800 & 5Diii haven't changed much since their release.
By the looks of it Canon's high end market is losing market-share pretty severely.
