Dark Souls 2 - Thread

I'm going to buy Dark Souls 2 SOTFS Edition (never bought dlc)
I've got two characters/build on current game. Will be there an option to transfer them to SOTFS Edition? Why to complicate everything so much?

Correct DX11 is a paid upgrade which is a little extreme to me as well but thats the decision Namco made you need to buy the Scholar of The Sin edition in April :(

Also the game exe has been heavily updated its gone from 18.4MB to 31.6MB so a lot of changes have been made & 21:9 support is broken again for now until the widescreen plugin is updated.

Any ideas is there is an alternative to flawless widescreen for DS2? HaYDeN has been away from the forums a lot recently, and the plugins rarely get updated.

I see From have finally included a form of submission over their stupid soul memory inclusion in the game, by way of the agape ring you can now buy from straid.

If you sacrifice a ring slot for it then you do not collect any souls so you can maintain a certain level for pvp matchmaking.

How on earth are they getting away with this.

Absolutely scandalous strategy. I bet you there was zero reason why they couldnt release this 'new version' on the PC/PS4/XBOX1 at the original DS2 release date.

I hope this flops on the XBOX1 and it might flop on the PS4 with Bloodbourne coming out.

Certainly hope it flops on PC .... it wouldn't be so bad if it was a free upgrade if you bought DS2 + all the DLC.

Another bunch of muppets added to the blacklist. Welcome to gaming in 2015

Sadly there are none. If Hayden has had enough that's it for 21:9 no-one else seems to have the time\skill to mod this.

Not seen Hayen mod anything for almost 2 months so it looks like he has had enough..............

No option as DX9 saves are not compatible with the DX11 edition so its start again from scratch time for everyone :(

I suspect this is artificial & From have done this on purpose to ensure its a justification of playing the entire DX11 edition game again

DX9 SOTFS is a free upgrade on Steam right now if you own the original game & all 3 DLC.

Its only the DX11 edition & its additional gameplay changes & DX11 minor updates which has to be bought although they said it will be cheaper for existing DX9 edition owners.

But yeah I agree with you its not handled very well at all & a real mess PR wise for the Dark Souls franchise :(

I've still never got around to getting this game. I almost got it during the winter steam sale, but then I heard about the SOTFS version coming out, so I decided it would be best to wait.

There is no way the dx11 version will look better than I have it atm with a few mods(and enb if you like it). The only thing I'm annoyed about missing out on is enemy placements, as it really would be like playing a new game with that implemented as well as the dlc which I haven't played yet.

Still very glad I am playing it now though, and not buying the upgrade.

hope thats not an official slide

is it functionnalities

or functionalities

they seem not sure :)

I personally (as a DS2 owner) - feel the whole thing is a bit of a joke

and likewise to others will prob vote with my wallet next time

None are essential. They did a decent job of the PC version this time around.

I dont think you can say its a decent port with what is happening now.

Just another prime example of PC gamers being flogged off, and in most instances its getting worse with this generation.

Totally sick of it and it's a big reason why PC gaming is being held back.
