Dark Souls 3

I've just refined enfused mine which balances out the str/dex scalling to c/c. Seems pretty nice so far with 17/17 str/dex and +2. +2 fire long sword still out damages it but it kinda feels cheap to use :p

Using a +2 Fire Longsword, it works on the enemies I'm dealing with because they have no fire resistance, simple maths. I will use probably a Claymore with just physical damage when I meet fire resistant enemies, which I could buff with the magic weapon spell or resin.

yeah the thing I don't really like about elemental damage is there's no scaling from str/dex. It kinda feels like elemental is for low str/dex chars to be able to do some damage while focusing on other stats for spells and so on. When elemental out damages straight str/dex there's something wrong with the balance.

claymore feels pretty cack this time :( very low base damage and telegraphed R2

Seriously enjoying this. Playing a Knight, took the first few bosses (in spoiler) out first try though which seems odd? Using the longsword with fire gem and +2 improvements.

The guy stabbed with the sword, Vordt and the Tree thingy

I have just stacked Str and Vigor atm, should I be leveling anything else??

For all previous souls games my first playthrough has been a knight type character and quite defensive. 100% shield etc just trying to get through the game, but for this I am playing an Assassin and haven't touched a shield... Every boss I've been two handing and laying with weapon arts which is not like me until at least my second playthrough!

Also unusually, I much prefer the normal roll to quick roll. I seem to be better with it.

I'm really impressed with Assassin as starting class. Come to think of it I don't think I have ever completed a souls game not as a Dex build!

I'm playing with a dual shock 3, and it's fine, except for the fact that pushing the left analogue stick down takes a sip from the estus flask, and I keep accidently pressing it during the heat of battle which not only wastes estus, but also leaves me open to attack at annoying moments...

I've had a look through the binds, but I can't see how to change it... any ideas?

I like Macks reviews. If what he says about the key binding situation is true then that is just lol for a triple A game, pathetic. I'm busy with other games at the moment so hoping for a fair few patches first by the sounds!

Started again and for the life of me I cannot beat iudex gundyr as a thief. I can parry him a few times but when he changes to blob mode I get destroyed. Can you even parry the blob?

edit:steam down looks like that it for tonight

He states he cannot parry and then the very next move shown is a parry...

He's a troll unfortunately :( Sometimes he is entertaining but he didnt even make it past firelink and he decides to rip the game a new one just because he was **** at it. His criticisms were a joke (if only they were funny). He says hes oldskool doing keyboard mode and controller mode is easy mode but then he complains about the toughness of the game lol. You can see in his video he just cant get on with the game at all. He does a similar review of the witcher 3. Lot of criticisms of that were just him being a dick to be honest (can i say that? :D). He says he doesnt do it for the hits/views and controversy but tbh he does really. ***** n giggles thats what hes in it for lol

People just need to accept this is a controller game, i cant even imagine wanting to play any third person game with kb/m any way? But i understand some may prefer it

does it change to ps4 controler symbols or am i going to have to keep looking up what xbox controler relates to my ps4 controler?
