Dark Souls 3

I have not come across an illusionary wall after 30hours play. They must be in the game as a written template is there to choose to write message hints.

Found one!... All that mindless waving my sword finally payed off! Got a good item from it too.

**** The game messed up and I lost my reward from snuggly the crow. Wasted a good item on that.

what weapon are you dex builds using? im thief atm and using uchi and the longbow. (i put in an epic parrying performance against the grunyr boss :D) Every door i'm coming across seems to be locked. Ive been summoned a few times (high lothric area) but the connection hasnt been great both times but we beat the boss on one :)

I have to say to people who are disappointed with the level design, I couldn't disagree more. I have been to Lothric, Undead Settlement, Road of Sacrifices and Cathedral of the Deep and they are all top class imo.

I think it blows the original Dark Souls out of the water in terms of level design tbh.

PS. Been whacking everything like a lunatic and still not come across one illusory wall... Everyone keeps telling me there are loads!

I've just been exploring Lothric again and missed a ton of stuff. It is brilliantly designed, this game gets better.

Did you know you can get rid of the dragon by hugging the steps up to it, and firing arrows at its wings! Won't spoil the nice gear you'll get :)

Started with the Estoc which I have at +3 and I really love it. Attached ks quickly and does good damage. Also using sellsword twinblades which I have added fire to as I love the weapon art of it.

I have the cursed spear thing boss weapon but I don't really like the moveset tbh.

I have found them all really well designed so far, but if there is one thing I've found odd it is shortcuts. I haven't really found much use for them. Take Cathedral of the Deep for example, I opened up two or three shortcuts and just ended up thinking 'yeah, that would have been really cool if I couldn't warp between bonfires at will!' I have found most of them unneeded so far tbh.

Epic/amazing game hard to stop playing. So much content so many different ways to reach certain goals. Some of the levels are huge then you think you have seen all content & you find another sub level hidden away.

Also has the typical Dark Souls difficulty/humour you see a chest out of reach you finally get there & it turns out to be the hidden monster chest or you get an important item in the corner of the room then turnaround & your exit is blocked by a gigantic boss!

Everything/anything can instantly kill you usually when you think your safe as well!! Not a good game for nervous players that's for sure!

Graphics are really just DX9 level with DX11 shader FX & some sharper textures. Do not think From can get away with using this game engine much longer its starting to show its age a little now.

I just hate the game design ! Infact everything about this game I hate with a passion. Its been burnt and put in the bin :) Now that put a smile on my face.

your missing out , took the series a while to click for me but when it does, no going back to balls like division and games like that. they just seem stale and boring

Wow undead settlement is much better than the high wall area! So much to explore, proper souls area :D think i found the 3rd boss so turned back to explore and keep finding new parts!

Was almost an overwelming area when i arrived as it looked massive!

I have never played a dark Souls game and this is my first one and I really suck at it. Cant even kill the first boss :-/

Dont let it put you off, when you beat him it will feel awesome!

What class did you start with?

Few tips would be stay close and roll around him when he swings (easier said than done i know)

Also manage your stamina (green bar in top left) this goes down with swings, blocks and dodging etc. Make sure to lower your shield and the green bar will regen much faster! If you run out of stamina you cant attack and can get stunned

It takes time but is very rewarding

Another evening of decent progression.

First off, I managed to clear the second area, the huge tree thing killed me, dropped 30k souls, went to get dinner, came back, forgot about souls and continued exploring as I got to the boss early and then proceeded to die and lose souls :( Ouch.

So, managed to meet onion bro, kill that demon, grabbed all the loot in the area and unlocked all the shortcuts. Killed the tree boss on my second attempt after making sure I knew I'd cleared the area.

Stopped playing after offering 1 vertebrae at the shrine where you fight said boss. Tonight, onto the next thing I guess!

Absolutely in love with this game so far.

Really enjoying it so far, though it does feel a tad like they're just fulfilling there contractual obligations with Namco.

Still, I dont think you can argue that the combat is the apex of the Soulsborne series. Same goes for the enemy design too. Just so rich and varied.

Only had the one 'cheap' boss so far, Wolnir. Nothing worse in a souls game then when they throw normal mobs at you during a boss fight. The very definition of 'cheap', especailly with such a big boss where camera management plays such a crucial part.
