Dark Soul's: Prepare to Die Edition (PC)

I gave the dragon 2 goes and then passed :p

I might do it later. Gonna e phone a bit now. I have heard there are some goodies around blighttown swamp, so I might have a lurk around there.

^I think my uchigatana is a bit overpowered tbh!:p... Makes short work of some bosses.

I am in demon ruins atm, killed Ceaseless Dishcahrge(what a horribly designed boss fight!), and just beaten demon firesage. Got mobbed by a load of demon things with is appeared to have goats heads, an died a few times getting there, but had no trouble with the boss tbh. Seemed very similar to the Stray Demon, which I actually found hardest of all the bosses, apart from maybe Artorius, and possibly O+S. Oh and that dragon I ran away from! :o

You mean you didn't recognize the "goat head" demons as the boss that smashed your face in for hours upon hours earlier in the game? They're Capra demons!

I too did Manus first go, I think I was just so overgeared it made him trivial. Artorias and Kalameet (dragon) did take some time to get right regardless of gear.

Glad you're progressing so well :)

Wasn't expecting another boss fight so soon!.. Centipede demon seemed difficult, but once I was underneath it, I hacked away and took care of it. I did have the smallest amount of health left at the end though... And luckily went for one last swing instead of healing which finished it off;)

It helped that Solaire took the brunt of the attacks!

I did Manus first go as well, though in my case I had 2 summons with me, who obviously knew the area well as they guided me to every item I could get, then virtually took Manus down on their own. I can do him pretty easily now, but big kudos for doing him on your own first time, that takes a bit of skill for sure :)

It's a decent armour set when leveled to +5 as its quite light but it's not a patch on the heavier sets. I use the +5 helm and chest when I'm using the demons great axe so I can stay under 50% but that's it, otherwise it's black iron +5 all the way for me.

Bed of Chaos:O... It's just so poor!

Every time I start thinking about how great this game is, it throws in something that would have looked out of date on the 90s!

Gwyn defeated.. .. I won't lie, it took me 6 attempts! I just couldn't get near him for some reason. The game ended as I was walking around... A bit anti-climactic.

Definitely one of the best games I have ever played. A great experience. It wasn't perfect, in fact there was a lot on the game which didn't work, or was just frustrating, but still overall an incredible game. It is kind of unrateable really, whilst I would highly recommend it, and call it one of the best games I have ever played, I am not sure I could give it higher than 8/10 tbh. Actually, I could probably give it a 9 judging the game as a whole.

Not sure if I will start NG+, or a completely new game. I want to make better use of the multilayer aspect in my second playthrough, what would you recommend?

First thing, gonna collect my thoughts and stick a review in the reviews thread.

I know I should really like this game, but although I keep coming back to it, I just cant get into the right mindset?:

I know exactly how you feel, but I managed to stick with it. Believe me, there were times when I felt like quitting as well, but I am so glad I stuck to it.

Whereabouts are you?

Hi blueshift, what is it that is putting you off?

Perhaps you need to find a playstyle that suits, my friend was dead set on playing as a fast thief type character and really struggled to get into the game. After starting again with Knights armor and picking up the Zweihander he loves it!

What type of character interests you?

Hiya, im playing as the pyro at the moment , so you think the knight might be the best bet, say a kind of tank character?
I do like characters that can go smashing in.

To be honest, the game really comes into its own on NG+, a lot of the bosses you thought were easy will give you an immense challenge. Lets not forget that you were massively overleveled/geared by the time you did the DLC/endgame bosses! Go back and kill Kalameet at some point too and try different playstyles - it's a very deep game with a lot of rewarding encounters.

Also, did you do O&S with Ornstein last yet? They are significantly harder on NG+ along with 4k and the DLC.

Took the little one out first, didn't buy the armour, as it didn't fit my playstyle. I was overleveled by the end, and I had a few weapons that made it a bit easy in places;)....The Uchigatant could annihilate most enemies late on! The reason I was asking about NG+ or not is because I would like to do a bit more pvp next time, and thought it might be easier to match with lower level players not on NG+?

PS. I didn't do Kalameet(though I tried 4 times).....next time maybe:p

The biggest problem with NG+ is that your OP weapons and stats makes the first half of the game an absolute breeze and the first half of the game is by far the best part of the game. The challenge only ramps up slightly around the second half bar a couple of bosses such as Four Kings.
