Dark Soul's: Prepare to Die Edition (PC)

If I die a few more times from them, I'm going to cry... I'm already rested at the bonfire by the gardens, so I will get the armour, farm until I can turn my Falchion into the furysword and then battle them.

Another good way to farm is dropping your white summon sign and helping others with boss fights.

Tip for the O&S fight:
You can get Smough stuck behind the pillars / pillar stumps making it easier to pick your moment to attack

Which one is O? Fatty?

And that's not a bad idea. Any suggestions on places to drop it?

Sorry, I typed the wrong one. Smough (fatty) is the one that you can manoeuvre behind pillars.

Depends on your level. If you're in the forest anyway, drop it at the bottom of the stairs on your way to kill the clan of forest protectors.

Getting seriously peeved with this game, lol. :D

Started a new character as I wasted loads of time just getting to grips with the actual mechanics and function of humanity etc. with my first one (while getting nowhere), and ploughed my way through the Taurus Demon and got the sword from shooting off the dragon's tail.

Now, I've reached the gargoyle duo on the rooftop, but because of a few stupid choices I have no humanity left, so am permenently hollowed. Managed to snag 1 humanity, got back to human form and then, just as I was about to step through the light to fight the gargoyles, some utter **** invaded my game and slaughtered me in two seconds flat (as I was summoning a ghost knight to help me).

Is there any particular way to get more humanity now? I guess I may as well just farm the Burg etc. for souls and level up a bit before going back?

Farming from the rats under the Dragon is the best method available to you at this point iirc. There are 3 rats underneath the bridge that sometimes drop Humanity.

The gargoyles shouldn't be much of an issue with that sword.

I would suggest dropping that sword and leveling up a different sword though. Like you, I swore by that sword, but you don't learn the move sets or anything from other weapons. And the one you have doesn't scale.

Anyway, if you manage to get humanity, I can be summoned to give you a hand, I think they are the easiest boss in the game. I'm near the area.

Remember you'll need to be within level range, from the souls wiki:

The level range for co-op is:

The Phantom's Level, + / - (10 + 10% of the Phantom's Level)

For example: If a level 50 player uses the white sign soapstone, they can be matched with players between the levels of 35 - 65, because the math works out as follows:

10% of 50 = 5
10 + 5 = 15
50 +/- 15 = 35 - 65

Painted World can be an absolute ball ache if you aren't prepared for it as once you enter you cant leave till you pass the boss. Its one of the more annoying areas in the game and the enemies are pretty strong.

You can use a shortcut to open the main gates early, skipping most of the level and making it easier to farm.
You can also shortcut out by going under the poison dragon straight to the boss which you don't have to kill.

Yayyyy, finally got a humanity! Helped someone and we won! So, I'm now human. Anyone fancy giving me a hand tonight? Hopefully we won't be invaded lol. I can summon at the anor londo bonfire or just outside of the fog gate.

What time? I can probably do something around 6ish if that's okay :)?

I killed them!!!!

Logged in 5 mins ago, went human, killed giants, summoned solaire. Went in. Focused on skinny. Killed him, then flattened the fatty soon after. Still had 7 pots left!

Am I going to be strong enough to get the very large ember?

I don't see why not, it all comes down to how good you are.

I take it you've seen the SL1 or SL0 clears of the game? You need nothing but a basic character and the most basic weapon to finish this game if you're good enough :)

You'll probably look back at O&S now and think it was one of the best moments in any game. It's definitely my favourite boss fight and I'm currently trying to do it at SL1 myself.

I rang my girlfriend and told her lol. She witnessed my frustrations with the bosses on Sunday.

I will give it a shot but not hopeful of getting the ember lol. Never been down to that area with the ghosts!

Also, that fat guy in heavy armour, I totally forgot to talk to him before Sens Fortess, I was rushing around... He isn't at the Firelink shrine, where else will I find him?
