Dark Soul's: Prepare to Die Edition (PC)

Siegmeyer? you might find him inside Sens, he will be sat on a ledge by the ramp outside you encounter near the start. If he's not there i think you might have missed his story.

At this point Sieg "should" be in Anor Londo still unless Agnes let him out.

Other possible location is Blighttown but I'm not certain if he moves on from Anor Londo automatically.

Well, I'm at the end of the 'courtyard' where the cave start, is it near there? If so, then perfect, I will just run back and give what's his face his freedom.

I won't ask or google what the treasure is if it's worth it lol.

In terms of damage, I'm now at max then right? I got 40 dex and a +15 Uchigatana. I'm pumping up my vit a bit now, but will focus on endurance next and get that to 40.

Once that's to 40, what then?

If you are sticking with Dex + an unmodified sword I would go Int or Faith for a weapon spell, for a non-spell based character Sunlight Blade has the best scaling (meaning you dont have to level Faith higher than the 25 requirement), you get it from killing a secret boss in Anor Londo which requires a Ring found in the Catacombs.

A note for the final boss of Dukes, you "can" cut off his tail but honestly don't even try it solo, it is probably the most awkward and annoying thing to do in the game but REALLY easy with 2 people.

Also wish someone had told you not to kill Sif before you did the DLC but oh well.

I think the key is between the bonfire and the fog gate where the crystal golems are in a treasure chest.

I think 45 is the maximum Dex can be before cast speed stops decreasing. I assume you're going for something like this? : http://mmdks.com/5vjm
I set Strength to 16 in case you'd like to experiment with the Lifehunt Scythe.

I thought about that, as I have the greater magic sword spell, so would be pretty cool to cast that for boss fights if it does anything and is worth it?

Thanks for the location, that's tonights mini job before the other half gets home. Won't get much play time in for a couple of days :(

As for the build, I I will stick dex up to 45 first then.

Just got cursed.

**** those big eyed ****ers. They make me uneasy looking at them the creepy ****ers.

They are my favorite mobs in the game. I forced my self to battle them countless times until I learnt how they moved on the 360 so I wouldn't be caught out. I've never been caught out so far lol.

I wouldn't go with it personally, it has 3 casts but scales pretty badly with Intelligence (1.1 scaling), only upside is it only requires 15 INT but frankly if you are going to put points in INT you may as well go for 25-30+ so you can use the HORRIFICALLY BROKEN Sorceries from the DLC or Homing Crystal Soulmass.

I would say your best options are:

1 Cast
Sunlight Blade + Canvas Talisman (req 30 faith) 1.8 Scaling
Darkmoon Blade + Canvas Talisman (req 30 Faith + Darkmoon Blade covenant r.1 and CURRENT member of same) 1.9 Scaling

3 Casts (Generally you will reduce this to 1 to get the most power out of it using the Tin Crystal Catalyst)
Crystal Magic Weapon + Oolacile Ivory Catalyst (red 25 INT) 1.4 Scaling

DMB is a bit annoying as to get the most out of it you need 30 faith + R3 in DMB covenant and be IN the covenant to even use it, so Sunlight or Crystal are your options. That being said it is the most powerful weapon buff by a good margin with R3 + 50 faith.

CMW is stronger than Sunlight Blade as it does scale better due to the existence of the Tin Crystal Catalyst, also INT is "generally" better for PvE than Faith. I prefer Sunlight Blade personally because I don't like magic that much and 25 Faith gets you some pretty useful Miracles.

Alright, going for a reroll and just going a tanky character, until I beat the game.

When I die I tilt far too much and just ends up an endless cycle of frustration.

Thanks for all the information mate, but again, I'm not going to get into number crunching or overly complicate the combat just yet, at this point in time, I want to enjoy the game with basic combat, and have a laugh.

Once I've completed it, then I will look into re rolling and maxing out damage :D

If you think that's number crunching in DS, never get into PvP in any meaningful way.

Non in game related, I was trying to get the PS3 controller working this weekend as my girlfriend hates the 360 controller. So I bought a bluetooth adapter, setup the controller for wireless using Motioninjoy, very simple stuff! A bit annoying compared to the 360, but it works.

Used the 360 controller emulator, anyway, DS wouldn't pick up either the 360 or the PS3 controller, until I uninstalled motioninjoy from the device manager. Anyone know how to get around this? I assume that DS get's it's self in a tiff because 2 things are installed for the same thing?

Finally beat Sens Fortress. Currently stuck in Anor Londo lol

Anor Londo is easy compared in my opinion. But the STUPID boss isn't... Oh how I HATE that boss, never again.

I killed Seath, not sure what to do now. Or where to go, I'm back at the firelink shrine and have fed the souls to that fire thing under the snake head guy.

But yea, not sure what to do :(

You need to collect the lord souls which consist of Nito, Seath, 4 Kings and Bed of Chaos.

You probably still have: Great Hollow + Ash Lake, 4Kings, Painted world, DLC and Demon Ruins to complete?

I want the horn (giggity). At the moment I have the lightning spear and I ascended my Estoc to divine. Boy was that a mistake.

Can I still riposte/backstab with weapons that dont do physical damage?

You can descend your Divine weapon back to to normal +5 at any blacksmith. You can then carry on to +10 or any other upgrade path.

I'm pretty sure you can riposte/backstab with the horn, I don't think you can with things like talismans or catalysts.

Done 4 kings. I started on the catacombes the other day, lit the first bonfire and stopped there. Using a divine weapon (not my faithful Uchigatana sadly :().

I've not done anything else you mentioned. Should I skip the catacombes for now?
