Dark Soul's: Prepare to Die Edition (PC)

I was given the sword when someone helped me beat a boss ages ago. I look at wiki's when lost so I can find bonfires and had to look to see where to go next. Starting this game and then leaving it for 6 months is not a good idea had no idea what I was meant to do next.

Hows it compare to Skyrim?

it aint no skyrim.

Heh, Drake Sword, no wonder people don't recommend you use it!
Zweihander can be found near Firelink Shire.
I have the Drake sword, on advice of the internet people have been saying to drop it quickly so I went to upgrade the longsword and I still dont get anywhere near the damage of the drake with 24S, 24E and about 5 shards on it - so I guess the point is that the drake is viable until you level enough/have enough shards?!?!

I got the Zwei but its pretty slow even if you can weld it with one hand.

Spent last night beating a few mini bosses, took down the big knight in undead burg to get the ring was actually quite easy, and I took down the Titanite Demon after about 10 tries.
I opened the watchtower basement and ran into Havel, DAT ONE SHOT! Hes on my to do list tonight before I carry on with the main questing.

Yayyyy, got to the bed of chaos last night, did the 2 things either side but can't for the life of me get to the root at the middle to then walk up under the 'beard'. Tried about 20 times lol. Thankfully I unlocked the shortcut from the bonfire under the daughter of chaos.

So it's only a 2 min run back to the fog gate. But bloody annoying! It's just going to be trial and error and not care about dieing until I do it.

Once I've done him, then I think I'm done... Here is a round up of boss's I've killed and those that I need to kill:

Asylum Demon
Stray Demon*
Taurus Demon*
Capra Demon*
Bell Gargoyles
Gaping Dragon*

Chaos Witch Quelaag
Moonlight Butterfly*
Great Grey Wolf Sif
Iron Golem

Dark Sun Gwyndolin*
Dragon Slayer Ornstein and Executioner Smough
Crossbreed Priscilla*
Seath the Scaleless
Pinwheel
Gravelord Nito
Four Kings

Ceaseless Discharge
Demon Firesage*
Centipede Demon*

The Bed of Chaos
Gwyn, Lord of Cinder

The none red are ones I have yet to do... Below are 'extra areas' or bosses that I have yet to do.

Oolacile
Sanctuary Garden
Sanctuary Guardian*†
Royal Wood
Artorias the Abysswalker*†
Black Dragon Kalameet*†
Chasm of the Abyss
Manus, Father of the Abyss*†

So a lot ahead of me, but mostly just extra content that I've missed.

Nice! if you wait for it to do a 'sweep' attack then just leg it in and jump for the branch it should work. If you'd like a hand just send me a message on steam if I'm online, I'm happy to help again!

Go for the painted world next, it's really nice :)

It's clear they ran out of money for that area, shame really but at least the DLC finishes the game properly.

I suspect I know the answer to this but did you beat ceaseless discharge the proper way? When going back through NG+ I actually found him to be the one of the hardest bosses in the game if you don't cheese it.

Definitely echo the advice above, painted world is excellent and the boss is awesome too. Gwyn shouldn't give you too much trouble, depending of course on build/how good you are at parrying.

Don't kill Gwyn until you've gone back and done the DLC + painted world though as the game restarts when you do. For me, the DLC has some of the best fights in the game, Artorias and Kalameet in particular are standouts. Unfortunately, I don't think anything will ever come close to the O&S fight for me.

Yea, my self and Jamie did it the other night, properly (I think). And after bed of Chaos I was intending on doing all other bosses before killing Gwyn.

Excited! Should do it tonight.

Ah awesome, glad to hear it. You'll enjoy the DLC, they definitely made up for the Demon Ruins area with it. You should be ready just in time for DS2 :D

That's the intention. I was sent a disk of DS2 for the 360 by a old mate who knew I would love it.

So if I finish up DS1, I will have a quick practice and a little session the 360 then play it properly on the PC. Can't wait! Even booked the weekend 'off' with my girlfriend so she doesn't plan anything else that weekend lol.

To think you almost gave up with this game a while back :)

It's one of those games that once you've gone through it and made good progress, it leaves a lasting impression. Honestly, I don't think people give it the time it requires and miss out on arguably one of the greatest gaming experiences of the last decade, if not ever.

I really should finish this at some point. Got up to Manus but couldn't for the life of me take him down then was too frustrated to backtrack to the main content. Left it so long I'll be crap again now :p

Manus was a total pain in the arse for me, dont know why but i couldnt get to grips with his move set. I somehow fluked it but i dread the idea of him in NG+, was considering doing him the cheesy way with arrows :D

Started a new build, dex/int with a Balder side sword, casting crystal weapon and power within. Ive used the Balder sword before, brilliant weapon, but the buffs make you borderline Hulk :D

I know right! Very annoyed with my self.

And I agree, this game is now up there in my lifetime favorite games.
