Dark Soul's: Prepare to Die Edition (PC)

yeh was using a sword, Most of my attempts were trying to rush up the stairs without getting blocked. Once I had managed it, it took just two attempts from then to kill him with bombs.

Good job mate :D Game becomes a little more hellish in the next area. However, the Depths are my favorite area in the entire game so far! Love it.

I agree with Capra though, the worst boss by far in my opinion. At least you can cheese the Bed of Chaos, Capra always feels completely luck based to me. Get to the stairs without being cornered and you've won, otherwise you're almost always dead.
 
I feel so spoiled that I got the B lack Knight Sword (censored for some reason) at the start of the game, managed to drop that ******* Knight in Undead Burg when I found I had some lightning dust handy, but i've pretty much used that sword up to about 60% of the game since it just trumped everything else.

The Capra Demon, while I **** myself the first time I walked into its little dead-end trap was no problem for the B lack Knight Sword and dropped him first encounter.
Switched over when I put Divine enchant on my Claymore and decided to dump levels in Faith but eh, think that weapon made a lot of the game a bit too easy :(

Oh and Sen's Fortress, by **** that zone can DIAF.

Just bought this game on the PC, completed it many times on the PS3, but I never played the DLC. So instead of getting that on PS3, I thought I'd bag the PC version. I also have DS2 on PS3, but gonna hold off on that, and get it on PC instead. The loading times are annoying on PS3.

Anyway, apart from dsFix, anyone recommend some must have mods for this game? See there are a few in nexus, but just wondered what ones you guys would swear by?

DSFix is the only one that really matters in all honestly. The only others I think are worth your time is DSCFix which makes it easy to summon/be summoned by people on your GFWL friends list and a high res texture pack. The rest are just texture replacements for certain weapons etc. At least that's what I saw last I checked.

Yeh I went into some of it last night, Killed the butcher and the massive rat and then jumped down a dark hole where I got cursed and died....Thats where I turned it off :p Luckily I unlocked the shortcut from Firelink Shrine so i dont have to run through the lower undead burg area ever again
 
Think I've found all the mods I want now. Didn't bother with that texture pack in the end. Went for dsFix, Floral overhaul, Text res fix, DualShock 3 icons and a couple of other small ones. Nice little additions in the end to improve the experience.
 
The texture pack from Dark Souls Nexus? If it's the same one I used (3rd one down I think from top files) then I suggest you give it a shot, it makes the game look a hell of a lot better.

I too was having issues with him, tried multiple times but just couldn't get him.

I too also went full Havel but no power within (should have used it lol) and no weapon buff (need to boost my Int from 10-15 soon).

I really enjoy the fight though, it's easy in the sense there are no cheap moves, his move set is easy to learn. But it's hard that if you miss a dodge/block then it bloody hurts lol.

Also, I am keeping track of what I've done, made some progress last week (don't play much over the weekends).

Anyone here played this on both console and pc? Did blight town on ps3 last night and now I can see why it is so hated, must be single digit fps

Yup, finished on both PC and Xbox, and the PC version is definitely the best, simply for the performance in Blighttown. I'll be getting DS2 on PC as well even though I have the Collectors Edition on Xbox, as I imagine it'll look the best on PC (though DS2 on Xbox has zero performance issues so far).
 
Yea I got to Blighttown on the 360, it was SLOOOOOOOWWWWWWW.

I also have a copy my mate gave me of DS2 on the 360, not opened it though. Saving my self until I finish DS1 lol.

But ultimately I will be playing this on the PC :D
 
Thankfully got out of the steaming **** hole that was.

My Uchigatana broke as soon as I entered blight town, made a run out of there via the big wheel thing, got all the way to firelink and fell of a cliff, decided to just man up and go quelaag.

Thankfully the black knight sword and halberd had dropped for me, that sword was OP vs quelaag, I tried using a battle axe and it did 1/10 of the dmg.

That big fire boss turned out easy this time, last time I just took the gear and died, I tried to run, got blocked by fog gate, turned around and hit his arm and he died haha?

Killed the hydra and butterfly this play through, time for Sen's fortress. Going a lot easier now I've planned a decent build and not using a ****** +5 battle axe for all of Anal Rodeo and Catacombs.
