whats growing up got to do with the amount of time needed to play to completion?
maybe when you grow up and have parental responsibilities you will understand that its not that easy to spend so much time playing a game, especially when there are other games you want to play

It's meant to arrive on 5 mins or so, but I had to chase a little for mine and ended up waiting a few hours. I think it was an honest mistake and I know a few other people who got there's straight away.

You understand it isn't an MMO right? It's a single player game, you can play it as much or as little as you want. You can (and I have) completed full runs of Dark Souls in little over a week of playing a couple of hours a night.
It is not this big evil hardcore life sapping aggravation generator a lot of people seem to be assuming it is. It's just a rather challenging game, nothing more.
It took me considerably longer to complete Assassins Creed: Brotherhood than it did Dark Souls.

Right i'm about to attempt probably the stupidest thing i've ever attempted in this game.

Fenris, my bro told me he played demons souls for 100 hours over 7 months, he has a similar situation to me regarding amount of time available to get on a game, are you telling me it takes a little over 14 hours to play through dark souls? This isnt the impression I have.
For your info, I get a chance to play from 6am sat and sun, til about 8.30 if Im lucky and nobody wakes up early, thats it, reason being the mrs is on nights thurs, fri and sat so I am taking care of kids on my own until after dinnertime at weekends. The other weeknights I need to spend with the mrs and help out and have family time. I dont get a couple of hours selfish time every night. So can't be dealing with a 100 hour plus game when I want to play some other games in that time too.

Well, the original question has merit - this isn't a game for people who just want to jump on for a quick half hour blast and generally don't have massive time to commit to a single game. That's not to say it's not good, just very different from what your average gamer might expect for a console port hack & slash.

You seem to be under the impression that I care about your personal situation. I don't. I don't give a donkeys what you spend your time doing, it's your time after all.
Neither does anyone in this thread care if you want to play the game or not. Just stop posting in this thread if you have no intention of playing it, no one will begrudge you for it, you clearly want to spend your time on different things. That's the end of it, you don't have to justify your every action to us.
However, there is also no need for you to come in acting self righteous and insulting (that IS what you were doing) people who DO want to play this game. You are in NO position to make assumptions about other peoples situations just because they want to play a certain kind of game.
In terms of play time, I've put a few hundred hours into Dark Souls over the last year. I did that because I enjoy it immensely not because it was required to complete the game or to have any fun, those hours include multiple full runs through the game on multiple characters as well as dozens of hours of PvP.

Fenris. No. I am not under any impression whatsoever that you or anybody else care, nor do I justify myself to anybody whatsoever, online or not.
What I did do was say that I dont have a spare 7 months to play it, try reading next time.
Please tell me how I am insulting anybody or being self righteous? Or even making assumptions about anybody, complex? Not my problem. I did say I liked the game, have played 2 hours of it this morning, hence my being in the thread in the first place. However, after reading this post Im quoting, I think I now have a pretty accurate assumption of you.
You still didnt answer my question, you claim it takes a little over 14 hours to play through this game, is that true?
If I'm just trying to completed the game (start to finish) then it takes me about that time, yes. It can be done considerably faster.
It's not really a very long game in terms of single player content, naturally time played will depend on individual skill and knowing what to do.
By the way I'm putting you on ignore now, you are being intentionally confrontational and just trying to start an argument that I'm just not interested in having with someone like you.
