Aha! found the winding staircase. Well at least I got some decent weapons from the mad dash through the cemetery. Even if I can't use them just yet .

Get your strength to 16 and use the Zweihander in two hands, absolute domination on anything it hits up until the Parish.

With 16 strength you can use both, he has the Zweihander so he might as well, its much better for cutting down bosses. The best shield you'll find until mid game is the Balder Shield, mainly because it has 66 stability without upgrades, which is 13 more than most medium shields, which is about 20% less stamina cost for blocking. That adds up. You'll run into elite knights known as Balder Knights later on, you'll know who they are when you see them, quite tricky for new players.

Go Dungeon Siege on their arses, sword and board groups and whack out the Zweihander for the big strong mobs.

I love that shield, it has an attack instead of a parry when held in the left hand that takes quite abit of poise to not get stunned by, great for combo breaking in pvp against large weapons. :D

Who am I?

I just found out you can summon two NPC's, they pretty much do all the work for you. No idea how I missed Lautrec.

Lautrec is easy to miss though, you have to visit him in Firelink before fighting the Gargoyles and after rescuing him, not many people would really go down and talk to him pre-belfry. :p

Any shield above 66 stability with a moderate amount of stamina will absorb his attacks no problem, attack his front left paw to make him limp, once he limps it's over. Easiest way would be to go naked with just a weapon and roll into him as he spins, so long as your weapon leaves you under 25% equip burden and you have full agility you can literally just roll circles around him. Hes definitely easier than the majority of the bosses, trying the Four Kings with a Divine weapon is neigh impossible, so tempting to go scrub mode and pick up elemental. :(

I'm on NG+ and it's about the same, with the Silver Serpent Ring I'm getting 100k + from some bosses, so leveling up is pretty ridiculous. :p

Dark Souls 30fps feels like 60 anyway so I don't see the need for a 60fps 'fix'. :p

They should spend this time making some d3overrides that fix awful AMD performance, playing other games after Dark Souls with no issues really makes me think back to how badly this game stutters and all the 15fps moments. :(

Tbh it's not too bad with my card, but it's just more excuses in the box beside me named "Get a damn Nvidia" :p

I know you have the AMD processor though so that's going to be worse! Do you have a box?

It's the processor that cripples it, and what the hell are you on about do I have a box? :p

Do you have a box full of reasons for switching to Intel? :D

God yes, but the poor performance isn't down to the FX line being poor, infact no games bad performance is, it's the fact that even on the off chance (especially with ports) that a developer even bothers to optimize a game for PC hardware, they'll still screw AMD over. Intel are much, much better processors but all of the processors AMD have made in the past few years are all still way more than capable of playing any game, it's just that the majority of games are extremely poorly made. The biggest selling point of Intel/Nvidia is far from them being stronger hardware, it's the fact that most games are programmed to run fine on them, even ones that are AMD biased, whereas a blue/green biased game is made to cripple AMD most of the time. The only games I know of that run poorly on AMD hardware are biased away from it. Being red sucks, I feel for hellboy. /rant

(Don't ask, I don't even know myself :()

Done. ;)

You'll be coughing up a lot of green for less bang than your buck than you'd get with ATI. AMD are still king for the GPU's IMHO, as long as you have an Intel CPU your AMD GPU can live to its full potential.

Is it coming on PC? It doesn't at all say. :p

If this get's dumbed down for the kind of special K that we have in this thread (can't remember the people but the ones who said it's too hard :p) I'll seriously be disappointed.

guys have any of you played Ninja Gaiden on the 360? Is this game harder than that (I complete NG1 twice)...thinking of getting it and having some fun.

Takes more skill but I wouldn't say it was harder, in Ninja Gaiden you have to just grind and not do anything except block block block attack. The latter is true for Dark Souls but some enemies/bosses require much more.

To be honest, they are quite similar, only Dark Souls is more RPG and clunky (on purpose, and it works) than the Hack 'N Slash engine for NG.

Tbh this is ********:

I refuse to have this in a souls game.

Untwist your knickers bro. :D

In all the Souls games you don't get the full experience for about the first 5-10% of the game, due to tutorial and obscure locations of certain equipment (Bows, wands, pyro gloves, even swords etc.).

I think he just means it'll take you a while to decide on your character type (pure/hybrid etc.) and find all the gear spread around in hidden chests/vendors/etc.

Chill. ;)

Meh, Souls stopped being hard after Demon's, Dark isn't at all hard, once you start to understand the game properly (takes longer for others I guess) it becomes very easy, and turns into some kind of casual go from A to B RPG like Skyrim imo, which isn't bad, I enjoyed both a great deal.
