Dashcams!

Look at him flipping his lid. probably just burning off some calories. Healthy body healthy mind!

Well this is a huge thread... So will ask the question rather than searching for ages. I need a dashcam for both the front and rear of the Mrs focus best recommendations under a £100 please? Not bothered about a screen but must have wifi for easy upload and decent freeze frame quality for catching number plates etc. I previously had a blackvue some 4 years ago, are these still one of the best or is the competition just as good?

It looks like the car being attacked tried to move over to the slip lane, possibly a bit later than they should have.

What a moron that fella is. Surprised the police were't interested in criminal damage and road rage.

Was quite funny watching him run off at the end LOL :D

Do those of you who have expensive dashcams remove/hide them when not in use? Was wondering where people draw the line between having a decent dashcam over risking having a smash and grab happen.

I guess you can argue that most scrotes wont know the difference between an ebay special and a blackvue.

Personally i've never spent more than 40 quid on a dashcam. Recently bought a couple of crosstours on a lightning deal for around £20-£30 quid each for my wife and for myself.

Mine's been fitted permanently to my car for the past 2 year. Probably newer and better out there now but if I recall properly it was £250 at the time.

I leave my 312gw in. If some scrote is looking in cars for things to steal they're gonna see the empty mount and go rifling through the car to find it.

I had a classic (Warning louder sound)

Classic what? Inability to anticipate the actions of the truck and a heavy right foot?

Heavy vehicles will pull away slowly but believe me unless you seize the moment and go for a gap your sat at junctions indefinitely so you either infuriate the drivers sat behind you or get a honk of someone hoofing it across a roundabout,in a heavy traffic scenario like that the trucker can’t win.

You could have just been a tad more chilled out and not had an issue imo.

Mercedes Truck (auto) transmissions are terrible unless you've already been stationary for about 3 seconds.
You roll up to a junction/roundabout, see a decent gap.. Stick your foot down and the transmission goes like.. er.. did he just stick his foot down ? Oh yeah he did... I guess he wants to go.. Um.. Gonna need a lower gear.... BEEEEEEEEEEEEP STOOPID LORRY DRIVER !!
The only answer is to go old skool and have it in manual mode with the correct gear already selected.

Because I'm in a different truck everynight I can't perma-mount dashcams.. or anything so I've bought DV688 waterproof motorcycle dashcams (front & rear) and mounted the cams on a "Lick & stick" mount outside the drivers door. Unfortunately I didn't make the bracket the cams are mounted on strong enough and it broke, so I just checked it on the dashboard for that night.
Explanation..

Coming back from Dover and yet ANOTHER road closure... This time the M25 J28 (Romford) so I leave the A282 just after the tunnel and go down the A13. Been a bloody long time since I went down that road so I stay nearside and get trapped in lane... No probs.. I'll go underneath the flyover and up t'other side.... Only.. Two dudes decide to block the frikkin road whilst they have a barney !!

I am in the roundabout at 9 seconds. He enters the roundabout 3 seconds later after I am half way between my entrace and his. I am then blocked for several seconds so even if I was slower he would have blocked me.

I knew what he was going to do the moment I saw the truck lol, still not an excuse to jump out on a busy roundabout when you feel like it.

Looks like a very busy roundabout and as has already been said, if you're a lorry you have to pull out into any decent gap unless you want to sit there for half an hour...

Agree, let the trucks pull out once in a while without crying about it! I see these kinds of videos on the youtube dashcam channels all the time and they are extremely boring.
