Dashcams!

What dash am is that in the lorry as the quality looks a bit mere?

External Motorcycle dashcams. Evidently the front one needed a wipe !

Bluesky dv688 1080p front & rear.1080p

I'm in a different wagon every night..Whichever one is available so I needed a "Lick & stick" affair

I wouldn't buy one without wifi tbh,sod pulling out the sd card every time you want to view stuff.

How often do you view footage? I think I have done it 3 times in 4 years!

So you can align the camera

Put it in the middle of the screen, point it out the front. Check the footage, adjust if needed and check again. Job done.

If you are pulling footage all the time or moving from vehicle to vehicle, maybe the bells and whistles make sense. Otherwise it's just more cost, bigger unit, less reliability and poorer quality to get the price down.

That's what I like about the Thinkware as it tells you how many times the alarm recording has been set off when the camera starts normal recording.
See that's one of the things that would annoy the hell out of me after about the 2nd time - 15:40 in this video... SHUTUP!!!! :p:rolleyes::D

On that note, the Viofo A129 dual - has anyone got this one and can tell me if it's silent when turning the engine on? I've realised that parking mode on any camera just isn't going to be good enough for me as my car is left for days at a time (up to a week regularly) without being driven so no camera is going to last anywhere near that long, and so spending the 2/3x on one with a decent parking mode is just a waste. So looking around the £100 mark for front and rear.

You can turn all that stuff off though.
Because the date went wrong on my blackvue GW550 I updated the Firmware (again) and obviously it reset everything to default. Now when it starts up it says "Blackvue for your safe driving" about 30 seconds into the journey. Must switch that bugger off !

Btw.. (I forget who said it)
The reason my clip started that early was I wanted to show the lane markings all the way through.
It's actually above J2 M6 @ Coventry.

You get the same thing at Tollbar island and the lanes are really not that hard to follow.

Hmm, it is very basic - only an ugly non stealthy mounting option, but decent video quality.

Techmoan's review basically says the video quality is very good but it's got very little features.

If there was a better way of mounting it I'd be tempted.

I ordered a suction mount for it for £6 (£2 discount) https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07GKQNQCH

Better I think than 3M adhesive.

It won't be stealthy but I should be able to mount it high that it doesn't bother me.

Looking for a cheap dash cam that will start recording as soon as the car starts moving or other motion is detected. I would like it to save these clips automatically too.

I'm not sure if these are standard features or not? Any recommendations?

I only want a cheap one to attach to my car for when I park it at Gatwick.

EDIT:

Seems like the 'TOGUARD Mini Dash Cam Full HD 1080P' will do the job for £23?

Sending the suction cup back, the mount has excessive play. The 3M adhesive one that comes with the cam is pretty well built and quite small so going to use that.

Which mount option do most people use, suction mount or 3m adhesive?

I was thinking of installing mine using the 3m pad as it should be more secure and wont come flying off!

I think it will depend if you plan to move it. 3m is going to be stronger and also smaller than a suction.

3m here, it is smaller and less likely to come away so long as it's on glass (It hates the tinting film on my back window so I have it on my internal body part of the spoiler).

You mean you want a camera to detect when the car is being moved away or being hit when your not there?
you want a dashcam that supports parking mode

something like a thinkware F770 (might be a bit OTT for what u want, but give u an idea)
