The more witnesses the better chance of conviction I would have thought?

This is a pretty shocking road rage incident caught on dashcam: http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/141...and_speeds_off_in__road_rage__in_Southampton/
They seem to do fine with blurry CCTV footage on other cases. There is contravening a road sign, dangerous driving and leaving the scene all on HD camera. The driver should have been arrested same day and charges added after witness statements if the CPS (Criminal Protection Service) decided to prosecute.
So my personal opinion of this device is say 4 out of 10
Can't understand why the police are appealing for witnesses when everything is on camera.
That's rarely, if ever, the only evidence. You still need to identify the driver of the vehicle.
Start with the registered keeper and take it from there. Otherwise known as 'investigating'.
A s172 requirement takes time. You can't arrest someone the same day if you are waiting for a response.
I recently bought the Transcend Drivepro 220 dash cam and I'm not overly impressed. The lane departure audible warning can hardly be heard on max volume setting. The 1080p video quality stutters somewhat. If I use the built in mic the audio quality is also very poor and sounds scratchy. When using it in good daylight no matter what exposure value I use it looks dark.
