Dashcams!

my mini 0806 is dead

not had it in the car for months, just plugged it in via the UK mains, even tried the PC

nothing

held power down for a minute, still nothing :(

My DDPai M6+ arrived yesterday. I can't install it yet as the hard wire kit I currently have installed my the A118 Wedgecam is mini USB and the DDPai needs micro USB. I've ordered a new hard wire kit and time permitting will install it this weekend.

First impressions of the DDPai are very good though, I went for a drive with it powered from the cigarette lighter socket and the video quality is excellent. I'll post some sample footage if people are interested when I've got it installed.

One minor niggle though, the voices were driving me nuts so I've turned them off. Also it'd be nice if there were an MPH option for the speed but it's possible they'll add that in a future firmware release.

sounds good

what's the price of these things?

That DDPai does look very good. Might have to give it a go myself.

Slightly OT, odd that people are telling Technomoan to stop making video's (just watched his review). Being a YouTuber myself, I will often be quite critical of others, but you can't fault this guy, he does fantastic reviews.

Does it have any driver assist functions like lane departure and brake warning? the website mentions ADAS which is usually Advanced Driver Assistance Systems but nothing is mentioned in the features list so I'm not sure if it is just random Chinese marketing or if the camera actually does it.

Anybody use the Nextbase 312GW? I can get it with trade in for £71.20 and the reviews seem pretty good. I've reserved one anyway but i'll wait and see other peoples opinions.

ive been thinking about getting a nextbase, I was either looking at the DUO or the 512 or what ever it is

purely because I don't want another Chinese crap, after the mini 0806 (I've got 2 and both no longer work)

I installed the new hard wire kit this morning and went for a drive. The video quality from the M6+ is excellent. Sound is a little muffled but I did have the air conditiniong on quite high.

Footage to come in a few days when I've got something a bit more interesting then a dull A road.

Mines just arrived, it's generally great but have an irritating problem where my phone (Nexus 6p) won't connect in the app unless I turn off mobile data. The WiFi connection happens but it won't talk to the camera over it. I'm guessing you haven't had this issue?
