Dat beard

Mine, not very impressive compared to most of you guys, however it's still working well though!!

What is she, 1/3rd of your age??

<3 WillGill :D

Mine is coming along now, filling out nicely :)
Still using my home made beard balm a few times a week, and regular brushing seems to keep it under control (even with such curly hair)

Beard in action lol

Yeah man, I'm 25 and still have a couple of less hairy patches. Don't worry, just grow the beard and forget about it!

One wise bit of advice from a beard forum I used to browse; you scrutinize your beard most closely. Likely, what you notice, no one else will.

Perywinkle, bear looks great!

I think I would struggle to keep the length the same allover if I used scissors

So everyone in here use's scissors?

:p

Lately I've stuck to just trimming the edges with clippers (no guard)...and by edges I mean the tops of my cheeks which get a few random hairs and then my neck as I don't want a neckbeard. I have also taken to carefully no guard trimming my moustache because otherwise it gets long in the middle and I have to filter all my food and drink like a whale. :(

I really need to get a proper brush and get/make some decent balm as it can get a bit out of control towards the edges...I'm just far too lazy to bother though.

I use scissors + Comb.

As in my previous post, using a trimmer will give you a lot of split ends in your beard. Scissors give you a clean cut.

At the end of the day if you don't think you're capable of doing it, go to a barbers and get them to trim it up.

How the hell do you get through the itchiness? Ive decided to try grow my beard (normally trim it down when I clipper my hair) its only a few mm atm but I feel like tearing my face off its so itchy especially either side of my chin

A cooling moisturiser or gel pack and knowing that it grows out of that stage.

Anyone got any bald patches? I've got a patch under my chin that still isn't developed and I'm like 23 now lol

I can't have a goatee as it stops at the side of my mouth, with no hair till my chin as a pair of thin strips. Little thin on bottom of cheeks, and a circular spot below my chin. Forces me to not have a beard. :p

I let my wife cut throat me as I can't get the angle on a lot of it. She's damn good too. Tempted to get her to do the trimming as well. Saves my trip to the barbers! :D

Great that beards have become "Fashionable" again.

Always grew mine out because I was lazy and it was always deemed unacceptable by jobs etc. Just much prefer it I hate shaving it feels TERRIBLE and used to cause outbreaks.

Now they don't bat an eyelid because it's too common now.

I don't know if this is a placebo or not, but my father taught me to wet shave from a very young age... I think it has something to do with that.

But thanks chap :D

Mines a bit longer and much more unkempt than yours, ditto re wet shaving since 2nd year senior as was pretty common in my class, I'm at the point now where I either shave for summer or commit to going full Appalachian Outlaw which I sorta want to do, first world dilemma there for ya.
