***Dayz: Stand Alone Thread***

Need help guys, this has been happening to me since the start in varied times.

Basically i'll be sprinting or doing whatever, suddenly the game will warp me back about 2 minutes to where I was before and nothing will work. The game doesn't crash but no buttons what so ever work and I have to Ctrl, Alt and Delete out and stop task. I know it's an Alpha but I play with 3 mates on TS and they don't get it. Is it something my end? Really irritating problem. Also when I die and click re-spawn, it stays on the black screen for ever and I need to log out and log back into the server.
 
Not your end its the game/servers. I've had it happen plenty of times.

Also sick of spawning and having lost all my gear :-(

its just annoying at the moment, im tempted to steer clear of it for a while, even though its say there ready to played BUT it needs a lot of work
 
It's soo addictive even with all these problems :D

But this reset bug is starting to become annoying, especially when running from Elektro to Balota then resetting back to Elektro :(
 
i went off and watched some films while issues were trying to be sorted .hopefully markers is back up later and playing better.

We're all really pumped for 2014, got big (but cautious) plans for patches. :cool:

bring on the base building and vehicles :)
 
Base building and vehicles I'm sure would be great in the end, but surely optimisation and bugfixing should absolutely be the #1 priority at this stage? If it were me I'd want to get the basic core of the game experience as good as possible before I start introducing tons more features likely to create a multitude of new bugs which will detract from other areas that need attention. A game with a huge amount of features but riddles with annoying bugs and glitches will never be as good as a more basic game that all works as it should

This is exactly what I was saying last night. They need to sort the problems they have now with just general gameplay and interaction before introducing more to the game.
 
I was thinking of getting this and then I learned that players can just kill eachother, I can see that leading to a lot of unpleasant encounters.
Would be cool if there was a version/server/game mode were only zombies were killable :)

Lol, When the game goes on sale again I'll take a chance on it, I know a few people who by this and just manhunt people for laughs and then laugh at the people when they are dead and keep doing it over and over again, Nice people lol

Its on sale now, its not going to get cheaper but it is going to go up in price although not for a long time (close to beta / launch)

In three weeks since launch nearly 800,000 people have bought and played DayZ. Means a busy 2014 for us to earn that huge vote of confidence

I had that happen to me once yesterday and I've only played for about an hour total, I also had the black screen with no options working on one death.

the game seems to take an age to load as well even from an ssd

Game is to alpha for me, I'm finding rust a lot more fun.

even after the server reboot late last night when all the doors on houses were closed I barely found anything.

I think in about 30 houses I found a backpack , shovel , bayonet , crow bar , axe , a tin of beans, I then wandered into the hills up a long twisting road and found a small village with bugger all , I then stumbled upon some castle ruins and found bugger all apart from a dead guy with a flashlight gun mod.

walking for another 10 minutes and I stumbled upon what looked like a large city with a power station , had some zombies chasing me so ran into a house , closed the door , zombie ran through the wall and I thought **** it.


I don't see how anyone can find it fun in this state.

hopefully they add hunting , fruit bushes/apple trees ,farming crops and maybe some crafting of basic melee weapons/bow & arrow

Also I hate the character movement and camera control it feels terrible to me.


I've got no issues with the graphics being a bit rubbish but the performance on a 4670k and a 280x is terrible about 50fps in cities with the community recommended graphic settings which is loads of stuff turned right down/off.

I think I'll leave this for a couple of months and stick with rust for now which whilst quite basic runs brilliant , looks pretty good and the survival system isn't such a chore searching a million buildings for a handful of food/water
