to much missing from dayz SA for it to be fun for me right now.
Really don't like the fact that you can't limit the pings from the server browser, it's giving the exact same issues DayZ Commander did until they implemented manual connection limiting. I pay more than the average person for my net yet can't play a game due to the fact that my ISP's 'SUPER' hub is actually a cheap pile of **** that overloads and shuts down my entire network thanks to how GameSpy throw every single connection & ping at you at once, with BiS offering no option to manually throttle it. 
Why should I now have to go and buy an expensive 8096P caché router and use my superhub in modem mode simply because both Virgin and BiS fail?

Many people play on OCUK but it's first person which some of us don't like for certain reasons, it is a good server though. I did play on |GITS| which was good fun and very busy but I can't find the server at the moment

Have a moan and try and get a Superhub 2 if you haven't already. I've got one and DayZ doesn't cain my connection due to browsing the server list.
Yeah, if you buy a £50+ router yourself and switch the superhub to modem and use the router it fixes the issue, but BiS are the only company that people with small ping cachés have issues with, so they really ought to implement some kind of option to throttle the amount you receive.

I have put hundreds of hours into the dayz mod (including hosting a popular Epoch server with lolism) and about 50 hours on the standalone, but I am kinda bored with it at the moment.
I am currently playing rust and loving it though, it looks kinda basic at first glance but it is an amazing game and was partly inspired by dayz.

On most servers you can play in first and third person by pressing the Enter key on far right. Some servers are locked to First Person

You might have a hard time getting them to give you one whilst waiving the £50 fee they usually charge, I've been having unrelated issues with my connection which is why I've had one for free (and now a second one last week, though the modem wasn't actually the issue).
Well my net goes down fairly frequently anyway, and requires the modem to be reset and I've rang them probably 20-30 times last year so they know I have issues, be pretty miffed if they don't 'upgrade' me to the superhub 2, I mean I'm on the highest package broadband near enough, have TEVO, phone everything with em. How do you go about getting a superhub 2 normally, is it just for new customers only?
That seems the way these days, screw your existing customers.
Weirdly though, just got off the phone with em and whilst they had remote access and monitoring my net, server browsing didn't do sweet FA to the network other than slow it down a little, coincidence or did the mechanic they send out this morning fix it.
Currently wandering around with 300 5.56mm and 100 7/62mm rounds but have yet to come across a player with a rifle let alone find one as loot, I've also got a Magnum with a load of rounds so I'm not defenseless but its getting a little annoying.
I found a Mosin in a huge town central on the map.
I then found an M14, 3 Magnums and about 4 pistols at the Military Base.
My biggest issue at the moment is that I am crapping myself that i'll lose my items - so i'm still loot hunting on empty servers. How the heck do you get the cajones to go wandering on a full server?
I've been killed twice, quite soon after dying and respawning by axe wielding gimps, so I'm well away that my current tooled-up self is a very sweet target.
Also, i'm desperately needing a silencer for my M14!

Once you get used to it it just becomes part of the game, it doesn't take all that long top get geared up especially if you play with others.
The most effective way of getting gear in DayZ is and always has been to kill someone and take their stuff.
The mod cycle of [Die > Go to Cherno > Get Enfield and kill camper > Take his stuff > Repeat] will eventually make its way to the mod once there are more people and a bigger loot table.
