***Dayz: Stand Alone Thread***

Just realised I had been posting in the wrong DayZ thread :o

Had my 13hr end game character just disappear on me when I join a server. :(
'Where has all my gear gone and why am I on the beach?' ohhhhh :(

Server hopping is a problem. I had been joining friends and 5 minutes later they're on another server. Asked them why they were doing it. "to get gear faster" :rolleyes:

You jump on a server that has 15 or so people on and then numbers dance around all the time. Then I end up leaving cause there is only 5 people on.

Also the dot xhair is too accurate. no point using iron sights at all.

The game runs bad on my rig. (2500k @ 4.0ghx + 780gtx + SSD) I cannot record game play or I drop to 20 fps.

Arma 3 engine should have been used imo

Game isn't too bad on mine, but it still ain't perfect. FPS drops to about 30 sometimes which becomes noticeable when it's swapping between 60 and 30!.
 
Anyone know which of the settings change the blur on buildings in the distance..

Example i run along I see a building 200ft out until I get to about 20 ft or ZOOM in (right click to focus key) The building is really blurry. When I start to zoom it pops in the full res textures.

Now I expected this to be controlled by one of the two texture settings but that doesn't seem to be the case can anyone help ?

They can only really address this when loot can respawn - at the moment it only spawns in after a server restart, once it can respawn hopefully they could implement some kind of system to discourage server hopping.
 
Why does someones equipment always end up badly damaged or ruined after you kill them? It's very annoying when you can hardly use any of the loot!

supposed to be dmg you did :P

in one video a guys says it depends on where the bullets hit but i've no idea if it's true or random
 
they are so slack on the updates given its an alpha, was expecting constant updates but nooooo they drip feed us and when they release an update its got f all in it.

meanwhile the breaking point mod for arma 3 (also an alpha) is getting updated every day and is already miles beyond what dayz standalone has in content... it also uses a vasty superior engine.

i have literally no idea why anyone would play dayz standalone over breaking point (other than the obvious fact they don't have arma 3)
 
yea breaking point had an update this year unlike a certain dayz...

they are terribly slow just adding content they already have the coding for.....
pcars alpha was awesome, daily updates on their forum from the devs , patches most days. you know the type of stuff you would expect from a company with a multi million pound budget

it's not like dayz sa has a tiny budget to work with given the sales they achieved over christmas but no doubt it's moar profits rather than moar resources and people to make the game faster rather than trodding along as a side project
 
SA is awful and is basically broken, ARMA 3 without breaking point has kept me interested for days(pun unintended) and I still have breaking point to play, SA is still having issues and no updates/patches.....

9 days since the last one. Not really that long...I think Rockets in NZ visiting family at the moment, He's due back backend of this week and we have just had the biggest holiday of the year. I guess most the staff have also enjoyed a break...

Even Dev's need a holiday. If by the end of the month we haven't started to see a decent patch or two I'd maybe start to worry.
