Inventory lag and desync in general are worse than ever for me. Was trying to meet up with someone and trying to get my flashlight in my hands to signal him. Whilst waiting for this to happen I get the "you are dead" screen. About 10 seconds later, whilst I'm wondering what the hell just happened I hear a load of shots and their impacts played all at once, made me jump a mile.
Tried three other servers as a fresh spawn and I still can't put my sodding battery into my torch.

No it's normal day/night cycle. Technically you're not allowed to stick to day time, but some hosts allow this, but sadly ours won't. If I could stick to daytime, then I would alter it
Cant server admins kick in day time settings?
I respawned as a new character without a torch ffs
Was running through Solchiniy on the East, all I heard was gunfire ffs.... sod that in the dark
See above.
Some of our guys have lost all their stuff, others haven't but all the backend work they've done I'm not surprised there's issues and to be expected.

I would not say the state is that bad, but it does have a ton of bugs, some new some old. If you have played the mod and I don't mean Epoch/Origins I mean proper old skool DayZ when it first came out you will enjoy it. It is very much in Alpha and in 4-5 months it will be in a much more enjoyable state.
Just my view though, also the price will not go down for a really long time so this pre-order price is worth getting it now and waiting for the updates to roll in.
Wow after not being able to log in earlier, just opened the game and I get spawned as a character I don't recognise with a hoody a gas mask and a mosin in the woods somewhere. Anyone else getting that kinda thing? Also get an error when launching about militayberet_nz.rvm.
Edited, yup, something wrong, whatever server I choose, I'm either this mosin dude or a a black woman new spawn, that update obviously lost my geared up M4 character who was in the hospital in Cherno.

Barring the fact that this update has borked my character, NO, its not bad by any means.
As an Alpha release, its incredibly stable, and even in its current form is more enjoyable than the majority of the finished games in my Steam library.
Ignore the digs you'll see posted about the glitches and missing content. Hell, as an Alpha release I'd expect many major game breaking bugs and issues but after 50 hours of gameplay, haven't found anything of that nature.
Its great fun and will only get better. They've obviously focussed on getting a very solid base to the game and, in that, they've succeeded. The bells and whistles will come...
Do we get two chars now ? ie One for regular one for hardcore ? Or if I go ona hardcore server does my regular player get killed. Or can I play a few hours on Hardcore on my own and then when my friends come online can load up my regular char on the same server we been using since Xmas ??
Just wanted to know as I play on my own a lot wouldn't mind a separate char i can have on hardcore mode than I can play when on my own. But I also play with my friends a lot and have my reg char logged out with them holding a bit of there gear. I dont want to loose stuff and all my gear.

I have been playing a bit on the server its pretty nice. I'm glad it has a day/night cycle, it takes loads away from the gaming having no night time.
