***Dayz: Stand Alone Thread***

I gave this a second go this morning(my first was the message onscreen about being unconscious!) I started again and saw a zombie so thought yes there must be loads of stuff to be had, through the first house and nowt, through the second and nowt, into another building looked like a hospital but by this time i had picked up about 4/5 Zombies so couldn't really check and there was loads of stuff but I couldn't pick any of it up(I changed view to make sure I was focused on it and nothing) so had to run as Zombies were in a convoy at this point over to the fire station, pick up a fire extinguisher and it disappears hear the awful moan of a Zombie so run upstairs(more stuff up there but still can't claim it) get to the final steps on the top stair case and *snap* my leg breaks!?!?!
All this talk of vehicles but I would rather they fixed the basics, lots of Zombies walking through walls and closed doors also!

Was playing on a hardcore server with my friend on. We are at teh NE airfield. We entered the "Prison" building I went into the building and up the stairs to where stuff spawns on top of the stairs. Saw an Axe and Ammo box ran over to the ammo box went to pick it up. Bam My legs breaks and now my magnum and speed loader are Ruined.
WTF I thought me and my friend stood there for a good 10 minutes trying to work out what just happened. We could not. I'm now trapped in the prison and my friend is hunting around up north trying to find me some morphine.
Anyone have any Idea what happened to me ? Its as if my magnum exploded and blew my leg off

You end up learning the best buildings to check after a while, some still don't spawn loot. Starting unconscious could mean you logged off near someone, to try and reduce combat logging your character stays on the server for 30 seconds after you log off and can be knocked out / killed.
Stairs and ladders can be dangerous, even back in the mod it was iffy, however I've yet to break my legs in the standalone.

LOL! Just sounds like a bug, your leg breaking damaged your trousers and that damaged everything inside.
Worth pointing out you can also mend a broken leg with sticks and rags to make a splint.
When I said second go I should have clarified I am a vet on this game(not a good one just been playing it since the start of the mod) and my second go was because of the monumental disappointment I found with the game the first time around. I would like to join up with you and yours at some point though if that is OK?

well thing is no one has done this yet so as soon as i say it people will obviously go try it
its nothing to do with me shooting you or you playing parts. i just need a group of people to help achieve it.

How does the game fare performance-wise, in light of recent updates etc? Has there been any optimization of sorts? I've seen people claiming to run the game on high settings on modest rigs, but I've always found the game to be particularly sluggish.

There have been slight FPS gains in most of the patches, but no, it is far from optimized. You can make it run pretty good by lowering some of the options, at 1080p you shouldn't have a problem getting the game to look good and get 60FPS outside of cities with your setup.

As for video options, check out You Tube or just get to a safe place and play with something like Fraps running to monitor the changes when you tweak the settings.

The gun was in my hand lol. Yer I know its a bug one Ive not seen yet. It scared the crap out of me I know that much. Not as much as when i had alt tabbed out last night tabbed back in and theres a zombies chewing on my head.
Scared me half to death.

You mean you were holding it in your hands while it was still in your inventory? It is still technically in your inventory as far as I'm aware so that could explain it. Unless of course you picked it up with the "Take into hands" option.
