***Dayz: Stand Alone Thread***

Does anyone have a full breakdown of the graphics settings? What works, what doesn't etc. What each setting does?

I've messed around for hours trying to get it looking nice with a stable FPS but found some settings don't change or affect the performance at all.
 
You will never get a solid FPS in this game, as soon as you move into a big town it will plummet, what you need to do is go into electro or chern and find a setting that is just bearable and set that as your base point.
I only get about 25fps in big towns but I can play like that so when I move north it goes up to 50-60.

The biggest benifits I found was low/no clouds,SSASO(I think thats what its called) off, video memory to auto and turn shadows down/off, everything else in on high
Obviously this is all going to be system dependant though

turn all blur settings off, post process off , clouds off.

in major cities no matter how good pc you have you'll drop to 30 fps minimums or lower and out of towns you get 60 plus on decent cards/cpus.

games engine is the fault and they cant really solve it.

What;s your specs? I've been doing a lot of reading about CPU Parking being an issue with the game too.

Have to say, I've stopped playing it because of frustration about the 'feel' of the game, just felt too clunky after I replayed Borderlands 2/Skyrim and remembered what controls should feel like.

BUT......I got way more than £20 worth of enjoyment out of it compared to other games I've bought, so no regrets.
 
Just wanted to mention that we at cq247.co.uk recently got a new Dayz SA server.

All welcome, for those that dont know us we have been running Battlefield servers since the start of BF3 and have an active community and forums (and TS)

tbh 1st vs 3rd makes no much difference proved that on ocuk server when it was first up. went on with massey slaughtered most on there :D
 
wtf is up with the lag!!

Happening to all of us on different servers, go to get a weapon out and nothing happens, or your weapon comes out and then gets put away again. Extremely fustrating when in mid combat! Sometimes you'll get your gun out and only for the character to get the axe out instead :(
