***Dayz: Stand Alone Thread***

Game is still so broken.

Zombies hit you without swinging and still hit you from outside buildings. Pfffff

Dayz zombies are terrible,How people accept these in a game of 2016 is beyond me,Devs are not doing enough to fix these.

Christ Warz zombies are tons better than Dayz,s.

They really should have gone with a better engine for DZ stand alone imo,The whole thing is just clunky, and too system demanding.

Tell me about it not played it for about a year? nothing has changed much apart from it running better. How many devs are working on the game? they seem really slow......zzzzz

Yeah it does make you wonder, 3/4 years on and they still only have 3 cars and not half of many weapons as the mod had - not even helicopters. I'm having fun like been playing it the past week however the zombies are terrible and the body temperature mechanic is just plain broken.

Tried it for a bit, must say its defo becoming it's own game now.... Cant tell as much that's its an Arma mod.

Tho, I'm prob playing it wrong, but wow.... you cant find anything... loot is so boring. We stayed mostly near the coast.

Until this game is opened if ever to communities I'm prob never going to really play it.

Come on. It was £20. It's taken ages and has a long way to go but I've easily had my money's worth and haven't really played it for ages. The new engine and general work they have done on the map make it very atmospheric.

Still playing exile though because, as mentioned, the loot situation sucks and also it gets pretty dull running everywhere.

I bought it on launch cause I was young and stupid. It was fun to play blind with a couple of friends but it got a little repetitive. Then when how easy it was to "break" the game it got stale fast and just became a crappy FPS game. I stopped playing cause the incremental updates made it feel like nothing was changing so decided to wait a couple of months to see some big changes. It's been over a year and a half and I still won't go back.

Supposedly an Hummingbird is coming in the next update...

But given the grenade physics simply do not work, I can't see how they're going to be able to get something that is a lot bigger and a whole lot more complicated to work...

I think the worst thing that happened to DayZ SA is DayZ Mod.

DayZ Mod was basically a Mil-sim with zombies.
Most Arma mods since then have been Mil-sims with zombies.

DayZ SA is not meant to be a Mil-sim with zombies. It is meant to be a normal person apocalypse survival with zombies.
Yes, there should be more/better zombies, yes there should probably be a few more cars/trucks, but helicopters, NO.
If I survived an apocalypse, I wouldn't suddenly find a helicopter around every corner, and know how to fly it. It is unrealistic. Also, I wouldn't expect to know exactly how, or have the confidence to, throw grenades. Thus I don't believe the lack of helicopters and working grenades is important.

If the devs had started the game development and called it something else so that it wasn't permanently connected to the mod, then I think there would be less moaning.

I do agree that finding car tyres in every building but never seeing a fixable car is annoying, but I have enough hours in this game to have had my money's worth, and I am still playing.
Not something I can say for BF4 or COD:BLOPS2, both of which I have a couple of hours play because of how poor they are in comparison to previous games in the series.

Oh, I totally agree. But they shouldn't be putting things in that don't work. Leave them out until they do work, or just never even mention them.

It's worth noting that that type of gear is only available in military areas, where I suppose it might be possible such items may be stored. Same goes for helicopters. They won't be everywhere (as you've noted with the cars very much not being everywhere!).

They're trying to please too many people and audiences. Realistically now, they're just adding things for the sake of adding things, rather than making a game for general release. I cannot see it ever being released, in anything apart from Alpha or Beta.

I gave it another a go and I still don't like it the loot is very sparse, it is also very rare to find a weapon with ammo. The whole hungry and thirst mechanic needs to be slowed down my character is constantly hungry and thirsty.

Zombies are a joke why do they still punch you? and why can they push you threw walls? the developers really need to stop adding content and fix what is already in game.
