No chance did this cost £7m. I'd be astounded if it cost $700k.

Maximum dev sat one time working on it, say 10 now the A3 is in update phase.

10 x €3000 = €30000 x 14 months, yup, roughly €450,000 in wages/bonuses. Maybe €50,000 in licensing fees, they certainly aren't paying for servers.
 
What is the score with this now, I thought Rocket decided to go on the payroll instead of going for the profits the game will make? I really can't remember why I think that.

I really don't understand the dislike towards admins having admin on their own servers? Don't like that admins have admin? Play on public servers,

Public servers are always so well run and never have any problems and the odd time they do, they're fixed immediately and no-one is ever affected so why would anyone want to run their own private server when all needs are catered to?

Don't like how every private server is run because they all obviously use 'tools' to find your 'tentz'? Run your own server and set a standard clearly unrivalled by everyone else, ever and enjoy your impossible to get on because its so popular server. Everyone here would play on your server because everyone here trusts your judgement 100%

No-one forces you to play anywhere, you're only governed by which servers are popular unless you like empty servers and funnily enough, those popular ones are run by small communities with admin tools that wouldn't still exist today if they abused their powers. If a community abuses it, get proof and get them exposed, they won't be around for long and even if they remain, you don't have to play there.

When private servers are available, no doubt, 100%, we'll see you on them.
 
So is this worth picking up at the moment by someone that hasn't played DayZ before but has been interested in it for a while (watched youtube videos and livestreams)? Or would I be better off waiting until it has improved?
 
Rocket wont give a monkeys chuff what happens on private hive so long as it doesnt effect the public hive, if he did he wouldn't be implementing PH and shared PH. All this nonsense DG is spouting is slightly embarrassing to read to be honest, you cant know what is installed on someone's box anymore than you can provide me with a list of installed applications on my home pc right now.

Lol at this. I was thinking the same thing;

1. New Inventory system - minimal work
2. Changes to major and minor cities - not hard as there are NO new assets
3. Carving out the inside of main buildings - not difficult again as assets already there
4. New animations - minimal work with the engine and some animations are broken

= roughly 12 months work for two people

Issues not addressed;

1. GPU usage drop in large cities now made worse
2. Zombies clipping through walls
3. Crappy ARMA movement that is always excused due to "the player having a real skeleton"
4. DSync through walls of players

Number 4 is the most annoying when playing with a friend (dsync through walls of players).. you never know which side of the wall they've gone until its too late, especially when they say "go this side because they are on the other side" expecting you to follow so you follow what looks like the ghost version of your racer from mario kart. I have to keep looking for my trial time when it happens

I've NEVER seen this happen in normal DayZ/Arma 2.. ever! How can you break something that wasn't there before? lol
