***Dayz: Stand Alone Thread***

I also have found naff all on OcUK server :(

Where are you find guns etc? In what type of buildings? Military?

I don't know it looked like some kind of industrial building. a magnum and FNX45 were on the roof above the stairway
I also found one in an office type building directly across from a hospital near one of the starting places.
in total 3x FNX45 , 2x pristine fully loaded magazines for them and 1 magnum.

I found 45 rounds that fit the FNX45 magazines and about 16 rounds that fit the magnum.

I guess most people just go to dead servers to gear up and then switch to whatever server they want to play on?

annoyingly I couldn't find a backpack anywhere but did have the UK combat vest thing so had about 12 slots to carry stuff but kept finding more good items than I could carry
Also is this part of the game to keep people close to the action, but how come on a steep incline, or if I leave the main roads my char cant sprint ? Am I doing something wrong. Or is this a design feature to try and keep people moving along the same kinda highways.
I think it's intended some steep roads you can run faster up them if you zigzag

Why don't you give sprinting up a steep incline a go and report back how it feels.

Yes Neil but you were running that fast as you were terrified of someone murdering you and planting a weapon by your corpse to make it look like self defense :p

The person who was behind me, suddenly appeared in front and it wasn't even the slender man

Exactly. "I ran up a mountain side" doesn't mean much. "Mountain side" isn't a universal indicator of an incline. You get flat mountain sides and vertical mountain sides as well as those in between.

/for Spils well if you want it spelt out to you, once you get above a certain grade of incline you cant sprint.

In those cases what i personally do is traverse at a sort of diagonal, i find this still allows you to climb and sprint at the same time, albeit a bit slower.

Herp derp. There isn't a standardised incline of a mountain side. You can get flat mountains, so to say he's ran up mountain side and it was fine doesn't mean much at all in the context of a steep incline.

To be blunt, Neil simply hasn't sprinted up a steep incline and it was fine, as it simply doesn't work like that.
