DCS: A-10C Warthog (first screens!)

ok totally loving this! :)

Am doing the training missions and have had a bit of a fly around in the first instant action mission too, guns and mavs I've worked out but not bombs yet (put a bunch of holes in my own plane by dropping a cluster bomb at low altitude! Lucky these things are flying tanks)

But I'm a bit stuck on the navigation training where it tells me to set the SPI. I slew the [] box around but it always shows as [x] and i can't get it to set. Seems to work ok in the instant action mission so I assume my controls work.

Do I need to set a switch or something to tun it on properly?
 
I'm using SFJackBauer's which seems really good.

Although I don't have TrackIR so I moved the trim controls to keyboard, the DMS hat to pinkie+pov2 and set POV1 to be the view commands.

I also set one of the rotators on teh throttle to zoom in/out but it's a little jittery. So might configure them as bands and assign to the * and / keys.

Thats what I'm currently using and like you I dont have track IR. I have an issue with the slider on the throttle. For some reason on minimum it causes BBBBBBB key to be repeated in any window I have open.

Half tempted to buy a Track IR now.

Have you tried Black Shark? simple amazing. Currently deciding which sim I should be investing the time into first. Spent hours on Apache Longbow many, many moons ago and there is something magical about Dark Shark. The game engine and for that matter helicopter are really low tech but .....

Great games and a steal even at full price.

The TDP can only designate an SPI 13miles away. Because you are so high in this mission, you can only assign an SPI near the Bottom of the HUD, to be within the 13 mile limit.

Not for long - Black Sharks Game engine will be upgraded to Warthog standard, for free, in the next month or so.
