DCS: A-10C Warthog (first screens!)

This month's PC Pilot had a preview of the new Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS which should go nicely with this when released.

A little off topic but a friend of mine let me have his track ir 4 for £30 notes well happy roll on A-10

The track ir with in black shark is so good i first tried my new toy with in lockon and was very happy and thought how did i go so long with out such an add on but with in black shark WOW 3d cockpit heaven.

Edit: Also picked up a fold up cap from pound land thought it would be crap but it's just right nice thin straight peak and light no good for outside use but fine for indoors.

If you want 6dof in Lock ON too you need to edit one of the config files, specifically Server.lua. I've put mine up for you to try here --> http://www.mediafire.com/?jv9npk74932vkgu

Download and copy to X:\LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2\Config\View Remember to back up your original server.lua first.

This "fix" for 6Dof was originally part of another Mod, I just can't remember which one

Happy to help. As with most stuff for Lockon FC2/DCS if there is something you want them to do, there is usually a config file for it somewhere. However do note that nearly all online servers do an integrity check of important files, so backup everything you change.

Nate--IRL-- what rig are you running ? I am thinking of buying a new gfx card this week i know cpu is more important but I am currently running a 8800 GTS was thinking of maybe a 5770 what's your thoughts.

I've got an E8400 @3.5ghz and an ATI 4890. Which for me is fine, but to be honest if you are thinking of upgrading for a specific Sim or Sims, I'd say wait until they are out then make a informed decision.

With DX11 on the way for Warthog, I may consider upgrading, depending on the benefits. But otherwise I'm happy with what I have.

DCS:WH runs fine on my rig as it is at the moment (Q6600 @3.25, 4Gb PC6400, GTX 275), but I will be switching to a GTX 4XX series card sometime in the early new year just for the hog. But I'll be honest, unless you really are a sim addict, I wouldn't worry about it. It looks more than good enough in DX9, the upgrade to DX11 isn't going to make an enormous difference really.

My TrackIR 5 has arrived this morning, purchased largely on the strength of this and the Storm of War threads I'm looking forward to trying it out in Lomac and Rise of Flight when I get home. Roll on 5pm!
