That plane needs an upgrade to a full glass cockpit..kinda like the Gripen one:

But yea...the A-10 is just amazing..one of my fav jets. A flying tank if there ever was one and as for that Avenger gun....no words need to be said! Cant wait for this to come out. Black Shark looks cool but egg-beaters arent really my thing when it comes to simming.

I have been without a gaming PC for a while now and am looking at getting a new one. This is the one game I would most likely play - do any of you guys think I would be fine with a dual core overclocked as I aint that flush with cash or would a quad really be required?

Dual core would be fine, while there would be a slight performance increase with a quad, it'd be nothing to worry about if cash is an issue.

The sim isn't truly multi-threaded yet, only the sound engine runs on a separate thread so 2 cores is all you really need.

Don't worry too much about your graphics card either, even a mid range card will handle this sim very well, it's all about the CPU.

Indeed. Looking at the canopy, it looks as if something's entered on the port side, exploded and blew out a huge portion of the starboard side. It's a good thing that the level of damage modelling applied to the Warthog doesn't extend to the pilot, otherwise it'd be all SAW up in there.

Cheers for the reply. Good to know as I really am looking forward to this game - I have always found something quite satisfying about learning a sim - but dearly long for the good old days where the local games shop had shelves stuffed full of sims and strategy games with FPS not even invented!

Some new screens.

Matt Wagner said:
Attached are four new DCS: A-10C Warthog screen shots that show off some of the Nevada range, new squadrons markings, and payload options. This is still very much WIP.

We are currently in the process of converting to DX11, so aspects of the game are not looking so great during this transition. After the conversion is done and the game is looking good again, I hope to create the next video note.

I hate it when this is on the first page. Always spend hours trying to convince myself i can afford DCS + all the bits and pieces to make it worthwhile

I can't see how anyone could play DCS Blackshark without TrackIR :p

Does the A10 have a digital targeting system, cos the backsharks is kinda gay having to search with your camera and move the chopper in perfect alignment.

I'd expect it to be light years ahead of the Ka-50.

It certainly is. The C Hog is on par with any of the teen series fighters in terms of avionics, and ED have done a superb job of modelling all the features of the avionics. Wait until you see the ECM/RWR/MWS/Countermeasures in action ;). Lets just say if A-10C does end up being compatible with FC2 the fighter boys are in for a shock the first time they try and engage one with a competant pilot in the cockpit.

FC2 Pilot: "Fox 2"
A-10C Pilot: "ohh someone just shot at me, oh well the defensive systems will deal with that, now where was that tank" :D

Today we have some work-in-progress screen shots of Nellis AFB from the Nevada map. Although still under development with a fair amount of work still to be done (object placement, lights, and texture debugging), it's at the point that you can get a feel for the base and level of detail.

Yes, that's also a new F-15C model for DCS.

Unlike most other aspects of DCS: A-10C, the Nevada map has been a joint project between the Eagle Dynamics team, luckybob9, and Zimster.

Why o why oh why oh why did i have to find this thread..........

And so restarts my obsession with Flight Sims and all the bits that go with it.

Have just ordered FSX and going to dust of my old joystick when that comes. Suppose it should look good on my Eyefinity set-up though.

Been looking at the Logitech G940.....looks like a nice bit of kit, although some mention of software issues with it. Anyone had any experience with it?
